We have an exciting opportunity for a level IV Information Security Engineer. The Verisign security engineering team develops unique solutions to support Verisigns internal security infrastructure from the proof of concept phase to the continuous monitoring phase. This team focuses on developing the glue that ties all the information security tools together with other Verisign assets across the network. The Information Security Engineer level IVs responsibilities involve scripting, systems administration, architecting systems, and working with other groups within Verisign to act as an information security subject matter expert.

Be part of a fast-paced team responsible for evaluating, testing, deploying and maintaining leading edge security tools to aid in the Security Team mission. Perform test evaluation of new tools, data ingestion, system to system integration and operational delivery, monitoring and maintenance of Verisigns Security systems.

Responsibilities include:
Systems administration and automation of security infrastructure
Administration and deployment of the security tools including: Endpoint solutions, vulnerability scanners, IDSs, SIEMs and security orchestration/automation tools
Scripting in common languages such as: Python, Ruby and Shell
Developing standard operating procedures and well-written documentation
Performing proof of concept testing in a dynamic environment


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science required or equivalent work experience
8+ years of information security or operations experience required
Minimum 5 years of experience in network and traffic analysis required
Must have Linux experience

Knowledge of security architecture, secure code development and secure networking concepts
Ability to administer and utilize relational and non-relational databases
Grasp of REST and SOAP based APIs (and how to interact with them programmatically)
Advanced experience with programming languages such as Ruby, Python and/or shell scripting
Proficiency with Windows/Mac
Familiarity with network flow based systems
Cloud security concepts
Familiarity with network administration concepts such as: subnetting, VLAN assignments, TAPs, SPANs, and deploying network hardware
