Job Summary:

The Adoption Specialist (CAPD) Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) is responsible for overseeing and increasing utilization of M*Modals leading-edge clinical documentation improvement solution suite.This position is responsible for driving the success of M*Modals Computer Assisted Provider Documentation (CAPD) solution, CDI Engage. The Adoption Specialist will also work with internal stakeholders to improve the usability of the CDI platforms, by providing customer representation feedback and CDI expertise. This position will help to ensure the success of M*Modal clients by understanding and driving key CDI outcomes, and by identifying, responding to and following up on client needs. A key focus of this position will be to accelerate the implementation of M*Modal CDI solutions at the customer site, which includes establishing customer objectives, performing workflow discovery, participate in testing, training and go live of the customer. The Adoption Specialist also acts as a relationship manager for the customer post go-live in helping to achieve key CDI outcomes. Strong analytical skills required to understand and interpret reporting trends on the behalf of customer, as well as ability to clearly identify reporting requirements and communicate to M*Modal Product Management. The Adoption Specialist (CAPD) Clinical Documentation Improvement will engage with other and act as communications liaison between the different groups, bringing an understanding of the client needs to M*Modal. This person is an integral part of the team who ensures that clients achieve the maximum benefit from our technology.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Adept at evaluating and analyzing existing client workflow practices.
  • Able to work independently on multiple tasks, critically think through problems and reason to solutions using best practices as guides.
  • Data collection and interpretation, including analysis of client data and trends. Reporting and presentation to M*Modal and customer management.
  • Assist the Manager of CDI Adoption Services and Director of Implementation and Adoption for CDI with development and maintenance of M*Modal internal documentation and account management processes for support of CDI technologies.
  • Provide input into product development based on user feedback and industry expertise.
  • Appropriate configuration of CDI Solutions for customer requirements.
  • Assisting with testing and providing feedback on customer-facing product.
  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3Ms values and ethical standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelors degree or higher form an accredited institution OR a high School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) with two (2) years of CDI experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree requirement
  • Minimum of two (2) combined years of experience of CDI chart review experience and/or Inpatient coding, HIM management, EMR/EHR implementation or physician supporting roles
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time domestically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, CCDS, or CDIP certification requirement
  • Two to three years of customer service or account management experience.
  • Two to three years of experience with physician interaction.
  • In-depth knowledge of the health information industry as related to clinical documentation improvement and coding and their relationship to Revenue Integrity and the ability to analyze the metrics involved in this industry
  • Knowledge of the physician and CDS workflow, particularly as related to Electronic Health Records
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, JCAHO, industry guidelines, regulations and standards. Familiarity with AHIMA and ACDIS professional organizations.
  • Excellent analytic skills, critical thinking skills required. Data analytics and report interpretation needed, MS Excel proficiency required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Adept at learning to use new technology and learning new skills.
  • Approximately 50% of Travel is required
