DMEAs network contain a mix of Microsoft operating systems (current and legacy desktop and server editions), Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and various embedded operating systems. Security tools employed by DMEA include ACAS, HBSS, EiQ SecureVue, and other similar tools.

IndraSoft, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Lead Network Engineer, who possesses a minimum of 10 years of experience delivering professional cyber IT networking solutions and services to the Federal Government. The selected candidate will have expertise two or more of the following areas; Network Security, Threat Management, Cloud Security or E-mail Security. He/She will be responsible for identification of requirements, compliance gaps, define specifications, design, integrate, test, validate system configurations and network management within Windows and Linux platforms. The candidate will possess a strong technical expertise and substantial experience with systems assessments, configurations, intrusion detections, and perform working hands-on management of LANs, WANs, wireless networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Qualifications Required:


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of proven work experience as a senior engineer in Network/Communications/Cybersecurity/Systems management.
  • BFOQ: Must be U.S. Citizen and must have Active Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must possess RHCE or MCSE Certification.

  • Must have current DoD 8570 CSSP Analyst (CSSP-A Cyber Security Service Provider) certification (CEH, or CFR, or CCNA Cyber Ops, or CySA+, or GCIA, or GCIH,or CICSP, or SCYBER)* or CSSP Auditor (CSSP-AU) certified (CEH, or CySA+, or CISA, or GSNA, or CFR)*

  • Technical expertise in two or more of following: Network Security, Threat Management, Cloud Security, E-mail Security.

  • Experience working with a mix of Microsoft operating systems (current and legacy desktop and server editions), Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and various embedded operating systems. Security tools employed by the program include ACAS, HBSS, EiQ SecureVue, and other similar tools.

  • Experience in design, deploy and manage LANs, WANs, wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers.

  • Experience in variety of CSSP tools (including intrusion detection system alerts, firewall and network traffic logs, and host system logs).

  • Experience in collecting and analyze event information or perform threat or target analysis duties within the CSSP.

  • Ability to perform assessments of systems and networks and identify systems/networks, configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.

  • Perform compliance and audit related tasks.

  • Working knowledge of DOD provided IA tools including: RMF, DISA, Java, and DOD STIGs

  • Experience with the application of FedRAMP approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

  • Experience implementing software security in an Agile project management environment, particularly within the software development and delivery process.

  • Excellent communication, business analytical and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills.

  • Effective Customer Service and management skills/capabilities; including a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally (internally) and/or externally.

  • Strong English language skills (both written and verbal).



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for identification of requirements, compliance gaps, define specifications, design, integrate, test, validate system configurations and network management within Windows and Linux platforms.

  • Perform network engineer tasks such as systems assessments, configurations, intrusion detections, and perform working hands-on management of LANs, WANs, wireless networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Manage, maintain configuration, analyze, monitor, control, and update network systems.

  • Provide technical and professional support services, systems management and cyber security documentation for all of the programs information technology, networking, communications, safety surveillance and critical infrastructure software, systems and applications.

  • Develop CSSP-A and CSSP-AU artifacts for Windows Server using data collected from a variety of CSSP tools including intrusion detection system alerts, firewall and network traffic logs and host system logs to analyze event information or perform the threat or target analysis duties.

  • Asses STIG and SRG requirements applicable to each DMEA information system, continuously maintain a comprehensive list of STIGs applicable to DMEAs information systems based on RMF control selection, system owner/administrator interviews and detailed analysis of Host Based Security System (HBSS) data (where available), scans and reports.

  • Present A&A status, RMF issues, concerns and vulnerabilities during cybersecurity meetings.

  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the NE or enclave and identify where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy or local policy.This will be achieved through passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (penetration tests and/or vulnerability assessments).

  • Provides technical leadership and guidance in the installation, configuration and implementation of virtualized products and technologies.

  • Develops contingency and recovery plans to ensure continuous availability and accessibility of virtualized services.

  • Troubleshoots and investigates complex IT systems problems, including the performance of deployed applications.

  • Coordinates the resolution of system problems by identifying issues and meeting with users, managers, and hardware/software vendors to identify solutions.

  • Provides expert guidance to management on systems lifecycle including upgrades and potentially complete replacement of existing hardware and software with new technologies.

  • Provides expert interpretations of network administration regulations and guidance and advises on the purchase and specification of new technologies as well as hardware and software.

  • Independently works on routine assignments.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:


While performing duties of the job, incumbent will be exposed to Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. This position requires incumbent to have the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.


Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
