Edelmans Seattle office has an opening for a seasoned PR practitioner with issues and crisis experience to support a dedicated role for a marquee, global client. We are seeking an Account Supervisor to join our growing team of talented and collaborative communications professionals and support the daily management of reactive response for a client in the retail food and beverage sector.


As an Account Supervisor (AS) on this issues and crisis team, youll be one of the primary points of contact and counsel for the client on a daily basis. Youll spend approximately 50% of time on-site and youll be responsible for issues planning and strategy development, as well as triage and response management for a well-known brand responsible for thousands of retail locations. You will work with a dynamic, experienced team; and have the opportunity to mold the future of the business.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports daily communications triage and response, including team coordination and client counsel.

  • Leads research, planning and development of comprehensive corporate and crisis communications

  • Embedded at client site for approximately 50% of time

  • Provide strategic and tactical counsel, messaging support, and team coordination in the face of emerging issues

  • Oversees account team work quality and operational performance, ensuring deadline adherence, reaction to industry trends and ensuring plan execution maps to client objectives within budget

  • Demonstrates writing excellence when crafting internal and client correspondence, communications plans, press materials, new business proposals, etc.

  • Strong media relations skills, connecting with media to correct story inaccuracies and/or investigate inquiries tied to specific issue

  • Displays strong presentation and client relationships skills

  • Champions integration of teams; uses and becomes one of Edelmans network resources to meet client goals

  • Tracks and monitors project financials (e.g., budget vs. actual) and meets client revenue targets

  • Mentors, coaches and supports all team members and ensures self and staff are developing abilities through Edelman Learning Institute and other trainings, including on-the-job training and mentoring

  • Leads by example; demonstrates strong work ethic, mastery of PR tactics and excellent people management

  • Commits to continuous learning and building technical and leadership skills through training

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least four years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing
  • At least three years of crisis communications experience, preferably in an agency setting
  • A bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • Proven ability to manage large projects and small teams on one or more sizable accounts
  • A comprehensive understanding of his/her clients businesses and their missions, as well as their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, investors, regulators, media, vendors, partners and other businesses/organizations, etc., and will be able to impart this knowledge to account team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit work of others
  • Familiar with best practice integrated Communications Marketing tactics and tools and will be able to recommend them to his/her clients
