Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

  • Assist in filing Sales/Use tax filings for multiple states

    • Prepping and working with 3rd party consulting groups for Voluntary Disclosure Agreement (taxes) VDA.

    • Maintaining current monthly/quarterly/yearly sales tax returns.
  • Assist in month end closing processes including:

    • Creating and entering journal entries into the ledger

    • Calculating accrual amounts

    • Calculating amortization of prepaids

    • Do monthly allocations and create debit memos for intercompany partners

    • Do account reconciliations every month

    • Reconcile cash to bank account
  • Assist in maintaining daily accounting records including:

    • Accounts Payables

    • Accounts Receivable

    • General Ledger
  • Assist in maintaining Fixed Asset subledger

Other Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills MS Office and ERP

  • High level of attention to details

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and customer service skills

  • Ability to complete routine tasks with minimal management direction

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an intern position; hours and days will be determined and scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Maximum hours will be 24 hours per week.

Internship duration will be up to 12 months.

Required Education and Experience

Current college student or recent graduate with a major in Accounting.
