Old National Bank has an opportunity for an Advisory Compliance Officer, Sr. in its Risk Department in Evansville, IN. The Advisory Compliance Officer, Sr. will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Compliance Director in enterprise management of the Corporate Compliance Program. The Program covers federal consumer protection regulations including, but not limited to Regulation E, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Regulation Z. This role is a part of a team of compliance professionals who provide second line advisory support to all first line of defense business areas ensuring adequate challenge on all consumer compliance related matters. The role will be assigned to a business area as the primary subject matter expert and point of contact for consumer compliance related matters impacting the area. The Advisory Compliance Officer, Sr, reports directly to the Corporate Compliance Director.

Corporate Compliance Program Elements include:

  • Corporate Compliance Program and Governance.
  • Business Line Support and Advisory activities.
  • Vendor Management support and compliance analysis.
  • Corporate change management including regulatory changes, system changes, new products/services and mergers and acquisitions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in maintaining the Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and issues. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments for the bank and report important compliance developments. Escalate changes in industry practice and legal/regulatory requirements and ensure that timely appropriate action is taken.
  • Aid in the development, implementing and conducting of compliance training programs. Reviews existing programs for improvements and updates needed due to revisions in laws and regulations.
  • Serve as key resource for internal associates, management, the board of directors and regulators.
  • Advising the lines of business and operational areas on Corporate Compliance Program matters including regulatory changes, business changes, impacts on new products and services, process and procedure changes, third-party oversight and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Provide frequent reporting to the Corporate Compliance Director on the status of corporate projects.
  • Assist as needed during Corporate Compliance related compliance regulatory exams including gathering of all pertinent information needed to accomplish the exam and work directly with the lead examiner to ensure the exam is completed.

Qualifications/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, law or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in banking combined with operations, compliance, audit, lending or relevant business experience.
  • Compliance experience background preferably from a $20B bank or larger.
  • Strong operations knowledge preferably in mortgage lending is a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations related to Risk Management, Compliance Administration, UDAAP and banking systems to include all applicable local and federal laws and regulations.
  • CRCM, CPA, or JD preferred.
  • Experience with OCC and CFPB large bank examinations.
  • Experience in the development/build of risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication/influence skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team.
  • Attention to detail along with strong time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental laws, regulations and regulatory guidance.
  • Conceptual thinking and analytical skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to define problems, analyze the variables and propose solutions.
  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office Suite.
