Solar Turbines is a manufacturer of turbine engines. Along with the sale of those engines, Solar provides the customer with services to perform maintenance, repairs and overhaul services. In order to provide these services to our customers, Solar has remote offices strategically located throughout the globe.

The Americas Remote Site Support team provides IT support services to all the field service staff (FSRs, RFEs, Fleet Managers, MMS Techs, etc.). This role is also tasked with providing IT support for the Remote Field Offices and personnel at those locations. The team provides IT support for any Solar employee on business travel or at remote locations around the world. It is our mission to provide support and issue resolution and allow the customer to return to performing their work as quickly as possible. It is essential that the support specialist resolve computer and software issues in a highly efficient manner. We are mindful that for every minute our customers are down, revenue is impacted. We must resolve any issues quickly and completely while being personable and understand the frustration the customer may be experiencing.

We require that our support specialists have the following attributes:

Excellent people skills and a sense of ownership for all issues you work
Conscientious with strong work ethic
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A passion for customer support, no issue is resolved till the customer says it's resolved
When support escalation is required facilitate the transfer of the support to the correct team until resolution

Responsibilities

  • Configure and deploy hardware and operating systems for: Solar domestic Field Offices, Traveling employees, Field Service personnel
  • Configure applications and resolve issues including but not limited to: Office 365 (Outlook, Word & Excel, Skype, Teams etc.), operating system, VPN, encryption, peripherals, Rockwell software and Allen Bradley devices
  • Review and document support processes and knowledge documents
  • Perform Hardware/Software support and issue resolution for remote customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve VPN connectivity issues for customers
  • Approximately 10-15% travel annually
  • Provide IT support at Solar Field Service District meetings (4 to 6 annual meetings)
  • Provide IT support at Solar Turbines Owner's Conference (STOC)
  • Visit and provide onsite support for remote field offices (as needed)
  • Perform testing and acceptance of updated applications and updated build images and software packages.
  • Participate in projects and group discussions that include but is not limited to, current issues and process improvements.
  • Be a process owner and be able to discuss any issues or process changes for your process
  • Be on call for nights and weekend support for priority field incidents that impact Solar revenue stream.
  • Ensure client devices meet or exceed current corporate compliance requirements including patches and updates.
  • Assist with efforts to shift left
  • Improve processes and methods that help to improve efficiency and experience of our users

  • Ability to speak Spanish.
  • OS Certification
  • ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) or any other IT Support Certification would be very helpful
  • Experience with encryption technology
  • Proven customer satisfaction is required
