About this role

You will perform accounting activities for fixed assets, projects and exploration for the US and Canadian sites. You will be responsible for ensuring adequate analysis and quality analysis and control of accounting activities to avoid any errors and incorrect accounting treatment for the various sites. You will coordinate with the Manager, Americas GL Accounting, Assistant Regional Controllers and Americas Regional Controller with the implementation of fixed asset and other accounting initiatives. You will support with regional assistant controllers, project services, and other corporate functions as necessary.

In this role you will

  • Perform the accounting and maintain the US GAAP and/or IFRS.

  • Provide support as required for fixed asset accounting matters to the North American sites.

  • Ensure projects are established, transactions are recorded, projects are updated, and projects are closed upon completion for all required activities including capital projects, exploration projects and advanced projects/R&D.

  • Provide analysis and report on the fixed asset registers on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

  • Perform the monthly depreciation expense processes in SAP and other systems in accordance with important accounting standards and the Companys Accounting Requirements and Procedures.

  • Provides business support to the site, regional and corporate planning teams as necessary in connection with the annual business planning process.

  • Coordinate the QA/QC of the sites annual business plan with respect to depreciation expense, capital costs and exploration, advanced projects and R&D expenses.

  • Provide support for month end / quarter end / year-end financial and management reporting as necessary.

Your training, skills & experience checklist

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance and Master's degree and professional certification preferred.

  • 4 to 5 years experience in the mining or extractive industries in a planning, budgeting, accounting, tax and/or financial management role.

  • Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, planning, and tax.

  • Strong BPC and SAP skills, including creation of custom reports.

  • Works efficiently in a cross-organizational and cross-cultural environment.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills.

  • Exhibited strong oral and written communication skills.

Working conditions & location

  • The position will sit in the Greenwood Village, CO Corporate Office.

  • Working in our inclusive environment, telephone calls or other meetings may take place before and/or after normal local business hours to accommodate other regions' work schedules and priorities.

  • We may ask you to travel both domestically and internationally to our various regional sites.
