First Solars sales department seeks candidates who believe in our mission of providing cost-advantaged solar technology through innovation, customer engagement, industry leadership and operational excellence. First Solars sales team is responsible for building sales and revenue generation by leveraging the companys differentiated products and industry-leading execution capabilities. Their mission is to engage customers, service their needs and win their business and trust, all while working collaboratively across First Solar functions to create innovative offerings to support First Solars growth, profitability and liquidity goals.

The sales team looks for motivated individuals to engage the market with products, systems and services that meet our customers renewable energy needs and continuously look for ways to improve processes to help us lead the worlds sustainable energy future.

Job Title: Analyst- Sales II

Reports To: Director, Technology Origination

Job Status: Exempt (Salaried)

Basic Job Functions:  

The US Origination team manages partnerships and sales with buyers of FS technology for utility-scale and distributed solar power plants. This is a growing, fast-paced team, with the ability to engage on a global scale. 

The Sales Analyst will be responsible for supporting deal leads in originating and transacting technology sales. This entails supporting key sales activities such as customer onboarding, lead vetting, technical due diligence, and RFP response. The position will interface with and coordinate internally across project finance, product management, supply chain, warranty, O&M, engineering, and construction representatives.

Experience:    

  • 1-3 years experience in engineering, finance, sales, or sales support role
  • Deep familiarity with solar or renewable energy modeling, design, or construction preferred
  • Experience in a strategy, analytics, engineering, solar prediction or financial services role
  • Demonstrated experience providing data-driven analysis to support business goals
  • Demonstrated passion for renewable energy and social economics
  • Evidence of strong strategic thinking, communication, planning, organization and execution
  • Prior experience presenting analyzed data to key stakeholders
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or similar management information systems a plus

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business or other analytical field
  • MBA a plus

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Demonstrated passion for renewable energy and solar power
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite, with emphasis Excel and PowerPoint
  • Mastery of Excel, database applications and other analytical software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to absorb and process information to prepare and present to internal stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking, planning, organization and execution skills
  • Self-motivated, demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to anticipate issues and recommend solutions
  • Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback and guidance to improve work product
  • Provide and communicate consistent and accurate reports and metrics, including sales forecasts, customer updates, pricing, etc. to management
  • Ability to understand the details but synthesize data in a concise and actionable way to meet the needs of various audiences (executive, sales, finance, engineering)
  • Results oriented and strong project management skills

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the training and education of diverse segments of customers on First Solars value proposition and provide timely responses to customer inquiries
  • Research and build knowledge of both internal technology updates,  wider solar industry trends, and solar market segmentation
  • Support Sales Associates in responding to customer requests for information on First Solar products and services in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain up-to-date technical sales collateral in preparation for and response to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Run competitive analyses on First Solar technology relative to other products in market
  • Support deal leads throughout the transaction and execution process
  • Attend customer meetings and conferences when required
  • Vet and support further engagement of inbound leads
  • Build expertise with Salesforce and other CRM, with eventual goal of managing and maintaining sales opportunities

  • Analyst will report to US Technology Origination Sr. Manager

Travel:

  • Travel: 10 20% (inclusive of local travel for customer meetings)
