Job Responsibilities

Navigate computer-based work instructions to install parts and hardware using hand tools and fixtures if needed; on wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) in a Lean manufacturing clean-room environment. May serve as primary trainer for other assemblers on specific job functions. Demonstrated ability to perform all operations on designated product line. Effectively escalates issues and assists Leads, Supervisors and Engineers with troubleshooting issues.

  • Effectively use hand tools, torque wrenches, equipment and fixtures to assemble WFE
  • Read and navigate work instructions and schematics
  • Work in teams to ensure workflow and production schedule is maintained
  • Provide flexibility and responsiveness for changing priorities including rework requirements and pilot build projects
  • Complete required trainings and certifications for processes, procedures and equipment
  • Ensure the correct parts were delivered and performs visual inspection of components prior to installation
  • Assist with audits through visual inspection and verifying checklists
  • Close assigned tasks by verifying work was completed, verify Cell Fusion was completed, and signing off and giving a description of what was done
  • Install parts and hardware correctly by following Cell Fusion instructions and using hand tools and fixtures if needed; verifies Cell Fusion completion
  • Cross-trained in multiple work centers (e.g. Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, NPI, etc...)
  • Train other assemblers on specific job functions
  • Provide documented feedback on work instructions through redline process
  • Perform programming and/or Inline testing of designated assemblies (TUA specific)
  • Perform all operations on designated product line (e.g. Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, NPI, etc...)
  • May be a lead assembler with minimal to no assistance
  • Disposition NCI's and escalate issues to engineering
  • Mentor others on continuous improvement behaviors
  • Effectively escalate issues and assists Leads, Supervisors and Engineers with troubleshooting issues
  • Review and suggest recommended improvements to work instructions.
  • Participate in Kaizen as primary team member
  • Perform audits through visual inspection and verifying checklists; document findings per procedure
  • Complete rework; identifying and documenting nonconformances
  • Independently complete leak check
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Consistently exhibit behaviors that aligns with Lam's core values

Other Job Responsibilities

Safety Protocol:

  • Complete all required safety training
  • Follow safe work practices by lifting no more than 35 pounds, using ergonomic pads, stretching when needed, etc.
  • Adhere to personal and product safety guidelines by:
o utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
o following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
o utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes,
lifting tool) to aid in the assembly of tools
  • Perform Risk Management By Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and document, correct and/or escalate safety issues/hazards to appropriate individuals/departments
  • Supports safe work environment by responding directly and quickly to unsafe practices; escalates to next level manager (safety representative, lead, supervisor, manager); and escalates any unresolved issues (incorrect use of hoist, poor placement of tools/cords/ladders, etc., not using cones or barriers, PPE misuse)

Communication:
  • Provide timely information and responses to supervisors and co-workers by phone/written form/email/in person
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to appropriate groups/locations when:
o Identifying production issues
o Suggesting continuous improvements
o Giving system status during shift pass downs
  • Participate in meetings and training

    Minimum Qualification

    • 3-5 Years of semiconductor capital equipment industry
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Work 12-plus hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
    • Squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand and operate in ergonomically- challenging positions for over 50% of time
    o Lift 35 pounds
    o Perform repetitive motions using hands and various hand tools
    • Distinguish between colors for wire identification
    • Be flexible and responsive to changing priorities including but not limited to rework, overtime and potential limited travel to other Lam/customer facilities
    • Utilize computer-based data systems and applications
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
    • Lean Six Sigma White Belt trained
    • Attention to detail
    • Flexible, able to easily adapt to change
    • TWI Certified Trainer able to develop JIB's with technical training assistance (TUA specific)
    • Certified on Inline Inspections, visual inspections, and quality checks
    • Role models continuous improvement
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills
