Assistant Data Center Engineering Manager

**Job Description:**



Data Center Engineering Technician (DCET) will work closely with the both the operations and projects groups under the technical direction of the Data Center Engineering Manager (DCEM). The DCET will provide assistance to the DCEM, and in the absence of the DCEM provide full support, in the following areas and on the following tasks. (Including but not limited to):



Operations (Primary Function)



+ Provide high level review of the technical procedures and risk of Critical Environment Work Authorizations (CEWAs)

+ When warranted provide detailed review of the technical procedures and risk of Critical Environment Work Authorizations (CEWAs)

+ Review operating and maintenance procedures with the goal to access/minimize risk to the critical load and the bank.

+ Provide technical advice and mentoring to the Data Center Operations Team including but not limited to the Critical Facility Managers, Facility Partners, and Vendors.

+ Provide risk oversight for all data center facility standards and procedures

+ Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all engineering aspects of the banks data centers.

+ Review proposed new policies, procedures, and equipment for technical content and inherent risk to the critical load and the bank.

+ Periodically review data center utility suppliers/routes for changes and modifications that my impact the power redundancy and/or dependability.

+ Assist in the annual facility risk assessment with a focus on standardization of questions interpretation/implementation and risk assessment.

+ Review the design related standards and documentation, providing emerging trends that may require design guideline updates or changes

+ All other tasks as assigned

+ Projects (Secondary Function)

+ Provide high level project review of the technical aspects of all data center facility and critical systems projects

+ When warranted provide detailed review of the technical aspects of the previously mentioned data center projects.

+ Review project implementation procedures with the goal to access and minimize risk to the critical load and the bank.

+ Provide technical advice and mentoring to the Critical Projects Team including but not limited to the Critical Facility Project Managers, Facility Partners, and Vendors.

+ Provide risk oversight for all data center facility and critical systems projects.

+ Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all engineering aspects of project implementation.

+ Review proposed systems, procedures, and equipment for technical content and inherent risk to the critical load and the bank.

+ Periodically proposed new technologies



REQUIRED:



+ There are no specific education requirements for the DCET candidate, however the candidate will be required to have a knowledge level that may be a combination of education and/or experience in as listed below. The DCET Candidate must demonstrate education and experience in the following areas:

+ Candidate must be able to describe and explain theory, implementation, operation, maintenance, and commissioning.

+ Electrical power distribution, medium and low voltage.

+ Emergency power systems, generators

+ Electrical standby systems, UPS, DRUPS, etc

+ Electrical drawings, single lines, three lines, control drawings, logic diagrams, etc

+ P&ID drawings

+ PLCs

+ Smart Relays

+ STSs

+ Candidate must be able to describe and explain basics, operation, maintenance, and commissioning.

+ Mechanical systems, chillers, oil polishing, adiabatic cooling, CRAC, CRAH, thermal storage.

+ Mechanical drawings, piping diagrams, floor plans, elevations, etc

+ Candidate must demonstrate education and experience in the following analysis areas:

+ Single point(s) of failure

+ Risk assessment

+ Redundancy levels.

+ Capacity levels, including failover

+ Load flow



DESIRED:



+ Electrical/Mechanical commissioning

+ NETA Testing

+ Coordination/Short circuit/Arc Flash studies

+ Electrical Troubleshooting

+ Medium voltage distribution
