Position Summary

The Hospitality Assistant Manager - Events will successfully manage the execution of meals and events under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, whether at the winery or at an off-site location. This position manages the front of house events team and is responsible for ensuring a commitment to an elevated level of hospitality and customer service. This position is also responsible for the administrative, logistical, and operational duties of events in a manner that reflects the luxury portfolio of Constellation Brands style of quality and gracious hospitality.

Responsibilities

1. Manage Events

• Maintain a professional image while managing fine dining service for all meals and events in the Winery as well as off site areas
• Manage trade, press, and consumer event logistics including: functioning as the lead for the event, budgeting, supervising and participating in set up and break down, chef communication, staffing, rentals, wine, decor and agendas

2. Management of Personnel

• Successfully manage the front of house Hospitality team consisting of at least two staff members
• Direct and train the team for each event
• Through strong leadership, delegation and decision making, work with the Hospitality Manager to build and maintain successful staffing that can work together to create memorable events that showcase Constellation Brands Luxury portfolio of wines
• Ensure that all staff are performing at the highest standards of quality and presentation to continually enhance the image of the brands it is representing

3. Maintenance and Safety

• Supervise maintenance of all supplies and equipment for the Winery and the Hospitality Department
• Maintain on going inventory of supplies
• Assure the Winery and surrounding hospitality environment is clean, safe and always maintains the highest level of appearance
• Responsible for compliance with CWUS sustainability policies and practices which are economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound. This is done by supporting programs at each location for conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling, which are critical for our operations to achieve tangible environmental results.

• Follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, company property, environmental and team members safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a high-volume special event operation with leadership expertise, preferably in a 4 or 5-star environment with complete understanding of proper service standards and table settings.
• Two years of experience managing events and events teams
• Excellent attention to detail, follow-through and good administrative and computer skills
• Knowledge of wines and mission of Constellation Brands Luxury portfolio.
• Successful execution of special programs, such as culinary or wine-related projects the winery may develop in the future, whether at the winery or at an outside location
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must have a commanding understanding of wine and food principles
• Proficient wine knowledge and the ability to demonstrate and communicate that knowledge
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills
• Proven experience leading diverse teams
• Organized and self-motivated with the ability to make decisions that are best for the organization.
• Excellent people skills with the ability to manage on call and temporary staff.
• Exemplary attention to detail and an unwavering dedication to quality.
• Basic computer skills. Desire to maintain an elevated level of customer service always.
• Knowledge and experience of elevated level wine and food service standards and an understanding of elegant dcor and presentation
• Must have TIPS certification
• Must have Serve Safe certification
• Have a California Drivers License

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently.
