The C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston seeks qualified applicants for one tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy and Taxation, starting in the fall of 2020. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in accounting (or A.B.D.) and exhibit promise for high-quality research. The College also has plans to consider several qualified applicants for additional tenure-track positions across each of the five departments at different levels and ranks, whose research relates to strategic areas of focus of each department, for a total of ten faculty positions across the College. Accountancy and Taxation applicants with interests in Business (Audit) Analytics, Fintech, and Healthcare may be considered for those positions.

The Bauer College of Business continues on a path of consistent growth. With over 5,700 undergraduate students and over 800 graduate students, the College offers B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees; M.S. degrees in accountancy, finance, energy management, marketing and supply chain; and Ph.D. degrees in business.

The Accounting & Taxation department has been successful in attracting excellent researchers and placing a relatively large number of papers in leading accounting journals. The department is separately accredited by the AACSB and offers innovative programs. The Professional Program in Accountancy enables outstanding students to obtain their B.B.A. and M.S. degrees in five years. The M.S. in Accountancy program has over 200 students that are highly sought after by top public accounting firms and industry. Our Internal Audit Program is one of only seven programs in the world recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Institute of Internal Auditors. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
