About the role:

As part of the Global Oncology Patient Value, Policy & Access (PVPA) team, you will report to the Director, PVPA Health Economics Lead.

How you will contribute:

  • Drive value demonstration strategies for Health Technology Appraisal (HTA) and payer assessments to increase rapid, broad patient access, achieve value-based prices and lead performance in consideration of commercial goals

  • Lead health economics (HE) plans and outline strategic approaches to guide pricing and reimbursement activities. Drive hands-on economic assessments for oncology medicines at all stages of development, using HE models and materials including systematic literature reviews (SLRs), indirect treatment comparisons (ITCs), statistical analyses of trial and real-world data and other methods

  • Oversee country roll-out and training on global HE materials and provide country response to payer inquiries. Lead the development and country adaptations of HTA models with regional and local operating company (LOC) patient value & access (PVA) and HE leads

  • Develop publication plans to drive access to portfolio medicines through HTA assessments and life cycle management

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Advanced Degree in Health Economics, Economics, Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Services Research or related field

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in healthcare industry with direct experience in global product value proposition development (industry or consulting) and interaction with payers, HTA bodies, relevant policymakers and patient-centered focus

  • Experience with the global payer environment and in-depth understanding of ex-US payer landscape including HTA trends and guidance (e.g., NICE, CADTH, PBAC), along with knowledge of US Medicare (Part D), ICER in the US and trends in Emerging Markets (e.g., China) including reimbursement methodologies, pricing/reimbursement authorities' decision-making process and current reimbursement issues

  • Experience with health economics, health technology assessment (HTA) tools, methods and filings, SLRs, ITCs, statistical analyses and economic modeling

  • Knowledge of clinical and epidemiological information, innovative global pricing models, all phases of drug development methods of analysis of large data-bases (e.g., claims data, electronic health records) and the major areas of Outcomes Re-search (PROs, modeling)

  • This role is considered a hybrid position and you must be able to work onsite in Cambridge, MA on average 2-3 days per week.

  • 10% - 20% domestic and international travel

  • Effective November 1, 2021, absent an approved religious or medical reason, all US office-based and lab-based Takeda employees who work fully on-site or in a hybrid model (as determined by Takeda) must be fully vaccinated to work at a Takeda site or to engage with Takeda colleagues or anyone else on behalf of Takeda.
