Overview \n
The Associate Sourcing Manager leads product related decision making about price and production schedule with vendors. Develops relationships and collaborates with product marketing, designers and sales in order to achieve the delivery of trend-right products that meet quality, design, timing and cost specifications. In partnership with the Samsonite China office, negotiates vendor selection, to-market calendar and final price. Has leadership accountability for brand or products as assigned and manages special projects as needed. \nResponsibilities \n
\u2022 Partner with sales, marketing and design to execute product strategies. Includes responsibility to drive decision making on calendar management and cost containment alternatives. Identify detailed product cost, to include freight, packaging and related requirements. Will include accountability as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned brand or product categories.\u2022 Participate in supplier evaluations, selection and qualification initiatives. Maintains positive supplier relationships in accordance with policies and procedures. \u2022 Investigate and proactively address quality, delivery and production issues with suppliers; escalate for management direction when necessary. Create and manage adherence to commitment calendar.\u2022 Understand current vendor matrix and performance standards (i.e., quality, on time delivery, product compliance, pricing and service) in order to make value added and strategic recommendations.\u2022 Recommend vendor for orders based on capabilities evaluations and understanding of strategic business needs.\u2022 Create and manage adherence to commitment calendar from the time of initial concept, project closing, purchase orders and initial shipment.\u2022 Identify detailed product cost, to include freight, packaging and related requirements. Will include accountability as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned brand or product categories.\u2022 Initiate and manage cost negotiation with suppliers to achieve the pricing and margin objectives.\u2022 Responsible for assigned product or brand portfolio to meet sourcing strategy and cost containment objectives as part of execution of the line plan.\u2022 Manage, track and insure data integrity of data: cost, weights, dimensions, Standard, etc. in SAP\u2022 Possible international travel to meet with finished goods vendors, typically China and South East Asia \n

\u2022 Bachelor degree; prefer supply chain or international business operations\u2022 Minimum three years\u2019 experience related to Consumer Products finished goods sourcing\u2022 Demonstrated understanding of International Sourcing: product cost development, vendor negotiation, purchase order management, manufacturing and distribution logistics\u2022 Proven capability to manage high volume product cost development across multiple vendors\u2022 Must be able to quickly accumulate and analyze detailed facts and develop a comprehensive action plan including information on order quantities, finished goods, quality standards and shipment status.\u2022 Must have strong follow-up abilities and able to work in complex, changing, growth environment under pressure.\u2022 Strong Excel skills; vLookups, pivot tables, formula management
