The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for assisting the Program Manager in providing program and project management along with team leadership, to represent program and projects to government leaders and managers in DoD. The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Program Manager with the overall Technology program, guiding both employees and directing subcontractor performance.

Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested)

  • Work with the Program Manager to provide program and project management along with team leadership
  • Manage a technically-diverse team in successful execution of all contract and task order requirement.
  • Represent program and projects to government leaders and managers in DoD, subordinate, supported and supporting elements
  • Will provide guidance for both prime contractor employees and direct subcontractor performance.

Level of Supervision:

Employee will work with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience: (or equivalent)

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a Project/Program Manager position managing medium-to-large projects/programs
  • Senior level DoD experience (preferred). Senior level DoD experience is defined as experience as a military field grade officer or above, or experience as a DoD civilian at a paygrade of GS13 or higher.
  • Experience working with or serving in the Indiana National Guard.

License & Certifications:

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Program Management Professional (PgMP) or possessing Level III Program Management Certification from the Defense Acquisition University. (May substitute 5 yrs or more of Project/Program Management)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in operational communication, collaboration, and information and data management solutions, preferably with US military or USG agencies
  • Knowledge and experience of project management and systems engineering in a field environment and knowledge of process and performance management and improvement
  • Must have specific and in-depth knowledge of military operations, organization, terminology and the execution of staff planning
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently.
  • A documented record of increasing management responsibility with a firm technical foundation in all areas related to enterprise level technology management.

This position may require the employee to travel within the CONUS (less than 10%) and to keep a flexible 40 hour week.

The employee shall maintain an active TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance.
