Buildings and Grounds Mechanic Helper
You will perform various duties in assisting the Building and Grounds Mechanics in the performance of their assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Floor installation, plumbing repairs and installations, building alterations, partition rearrangement, parking lot repairs, snow removal, moving materials and equipment, and maintenance of lawns
- Operations of tractors, trucks, snow blowers and lawn mowers
- Handling material in yard such as oil drums and maintain records in relation to inventory and storage
- Assist in plant cleaning, as required
- Perform minor maintenance repairs
- Assist in any assignments required of the Building and Grounds department
- Work from ladders and scaffolds, as required
- Work from verbal or written instructions
- Subject to call-in for emergencies such as snow, flooding, or fire.
Basic Requirements:- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Over six months of related experience
- The ability to read, write and interpret drawings, specifications and diagrams
- Demonstrated initiative and a can-do attitude
