HCC is currently seeking a Business Analyst, PeopleSoft I, who will advance the institutions proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

Your mission: Maintain security setup for all PeopleSoft Systems (HRs, Finance, Student Administration), and assist in performing quality assurance testing for software systems and training initiatives in the Applications Development Department.

A typical day: Throughout the day, youll respond to routine questions, phone calls and user requests for applications systems support assistance. Youll assist Sr. Business Analysts with comparative analyses, and maintain PeopleSoft reporting structures. Providing technical and functional training, and participating in QA testing will also be typical activities for you.

SUMMARY


Responsible
for maintaining security setup for all PeopleSoft Systems (Human Resources,
Finance, Student Administration). Respond to routine questions, phone calls and
user requests for applications systems support assistance. Assist in performing
quality assurance testing for software systems and training initiatives in
Applications Development Department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the
following: Other duties may be assigned.


Serve as 1st line of customer service for all
Applications Development users.


Assist in providing and developing continuous best practices for
customer service.


Assist Sr. Business Analysts in
performing comparative analysis of assigned function current procedures and
PeopleSoft best practices.

Provide assistance in resolving user reported problems or requests
for assistance for all Applications Development modules exhibiting
outstanding customer service.


Assist in maintaining PeopleSoft System reporting structures for
chartfield accounts, departments, funds and programs.


Participate in quality assurance testing during the implementation
of patches, fixes, modifications and upgrades of all Application Development
projects.


Assist in technical and functional training.


Construct process and procedure documentation via development of
user-friendly step-by-step instructions.


Handle sensitive information in a
professional and confidential manner.


Assist in reviews of HCCS business processes and offer
recommendations for improvement.


QUALIFICATIONS


To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities
listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the
education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in HRs, Business, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Management or a relevant field, or four (4) years directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years experience in the use of personal computers (including client-servers/ Web) for business applications.

Work experience in higher education institution or community college environment is preferred.

Experience in facilitating training classes and utilization of UPK software preferred.

One (1) year customer service/user support related assistance required.

Two (2) years PeopleSoft functional and/or technical experience preferred.

Some Vignette Portal content management experience preferred.
HCCS experience highly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Must be well organized, able to prioritize and handle multiple concurrent tasks, and be able to manage sensitive data and/or information in a confidential manner.

Ability to function independently on assigned project work, and interface with all levels of the HCCS organization in carrying out the duties required of this position.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Knowledge of all functional areas within assigned function.

Ability to organize data in a clear and logical manner for reporting purposes required.

Ability to analyze and evaluate complex information from internal and external sources, required.


Proficiency with Windows and all Microsoft Office software required.
