The Transformation Office was launched in February 2018 with a goal of transforming SVB's most strategic and core business processes, through new approaches to technology, processes and organization design. As part of the Transformation Office, the Credit Transformation Program is executing on a target state roadmap that was developed to transform the credit lifecycle, close capability gaps and ultimately enable SVB to accomplish key business objectives of scalable growth, improved client experience, and employee enablement.

The Business Implementation Manager is responsible for business readiness related to the nCino implementation and ensuring that (i) designated business units (primarily Loan Operations and Middle Office) are prepared to launch and support new credit technology and changes to existing technology, operational processes, and related client servicing; and (ii) changes are scalable and comply with all appropriate guidelines, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, risk management best-practices, industry standards, and SVB methodology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages business implementation for the nCino project and related work efforts by driving full life-cycle development and delivery of nCino and operational improvements from conception through launch for designated business units (primarily, Middle Office and Global Loan Operations teams)
  • Acts as an advocate for all business stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are understood and addressed in advance of launch
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, manages overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex project-oriented work efforts and adheres to project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards and customer expectations
  • Drives creation of and/or changes to operational processes, procedures, work flows, and related documentation
  • Manages communication to senior leaders and other key stakeholders
  • Manages overall coordination of cross-functional resources including subject matter experts from various departments across the organization (e.g. Compliance, Product Management, Operations, Internal Audit, Servicing, IT, Legal, Marketing, Sales, Training & Communication, Accounting, Finance, et.al.)

  • Designs, implements, and practices methodologies in change management, risk management, vendor management, business continuity management, and business implementation management
  • Partners closely with IT Project Manager and the nCino project team to ensure close alignment of technical activities with the business activities for effective, end-to-end change implementation and an optimal client experience
  • Collaborates with Legal, Product, Compliance, Credit, et.al. on the creation of or updates to legal agreements
  • Supports preparations to ensure business readiness, including system configuration implementation (business set ups) and partners on User Acceptance Testing to ensure business requirements are met

  • Extensive experience in project management, business process engineering, and/or leadership of matrixed cross-functional teams with emphasis in systems integration, risk management, vendor management, and reporting/business intelligence
  • Experience in financial services, preferably commercial banking, with broad and deep expertise in business implementation, product development, operations, and/or client-servicing
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and relationships, manage matrixed teams, bridge communication gaps, resolve conflicts, and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to quickly break down large, complex initiatives into logical, manageable work packages, tasks, and sub-tasks for execution
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new products, lines of business, processes, software, systems, and client needs
  • Effective risk management skills and ability to predict and mitigate risks and issues, as well as anticipating and proactively preparing for changes and impacts to clients and SVB's business
  • Effective at gap- and root-cause-analysis; Familiar with root-cause-analysis tools and techniques
  • Polished diplomacy, active listening, persuasiveness, and presentation skills to evangelize changes and gain buy-in, consensus, and cooperation in the face of conflicting viewpoints, resistance to change, constraints, etc.
  • Critical-thinking, business analysis, and process engineering skills to manage, contribute to, and foresee pitfalls in process-related deliverables
