As a Category Development Manager (Category Manager), youll be responsible for creating and implementing a futuristic view point of the pet care category to transform our customer accounts. In this role, youll exemplify the leadership and communication skills that drive lasting relationships and top business results. Youll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain and Marketing groups, among others, facilitating your ability to drive stronger alignment between our customers and the larger category on short and long term insight strategies.





Having a deep understanding of our competitors and how to leverage market insights will make you a subject matter expert and a trusted leader within your team. Data, analytics and consultative persuasion will guide you in influencing decisions made by your key customer groups. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Identify research opportunities, specific to your customers business and assist in consumer research projects



Analyze consumer off-take opportunities



Identify and prioritize value-added actions that drive category growth, share growth and trade independency



Develop strategic, category-leadership initiatives by utilizing tools and processes, such as item optimization, customized marketing, shelf space optimization/utilization, in-store merchandising, pricing and promotion planning, and store clustering



Establish credibility as an industry leader in category management by developing strong category partnerships through demonstration of category and consumer expertise



Identify and facilitate training programs that meet the needs specified for account team associates and analysts in any of the areas of category leadership



Manage and translate analytics through the use of Spectra Micro Marketing, Market Research, Consumer Decision Tree, Panel Data, Nielsen Data Retrieval/Analysis, ProSpace and Point of Sale Data.



Travel up to 25-30%





Perform all other duties as assigned



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):



Education:



Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.





Experience (Years/Type):



3+ years of experience in category development, account management or business analytics. Previous people leading experience preferred.





Skills:



Previous ProSpace and Nielsen data experience preferred.



Strong presentation skills



Advanced MS Excel and Powerpoint skills
