We are seeking a Category Sourcing Manager- Automation in our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Team (MRO & Capital) to be responsible for: Machine Control Automation Systems (PLC, HMI, and Machine Safety), OEM Services, Software / Cloud Services, Reliability Systems (Vibration Monitoring), Vision Systems (Web Inspection), and Process Safety Systems (BMS, CEMS). The individual is responsible for $60MM in annual spend through category management, supplier management, development and implementation of category strategies though Cross-Functional teams in relevant business units.


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


KEY REPONSIBILITIES:
Provide overall leadership and sponsorship in the Machine Automation category.
Understand business unit and facility requirements, and build a shared strategy which delivers value to meet business needs.

Formulate and execute source-of-supply evaluations to deliver and optimize category management results.
Facilitate, lead, and educate cross-functional teams through the strategic category management process including spend analytics and point-of-view development.
Provide expertise in analyzing supply markets and assessing supplier capabilities utilizing commodity trackers and benchmarking data.
Alignment of sourcing strategies with Process Equipment, Engineering Integration Services, and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) category groups.
Develop and communicate category strategy, initiatives and value to business leaders, engineering, maintenance, procurement and operations, meeting the facility and business unit value creation objectives of GP.
Provide direction to teams and support for initiatives within their organizations based on best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Support capital spending activities with project sourcing execution team resources; communicate expectations to cross-functional team members and suppliers.
Provide category specific leadership and direction to our suppliers as well as business leaders, engineering, maintenance, procurement and operations.
Manage work plans and communicate progress, results and recommendations throughout the organization.
Determine material and service expectations and requirements necessary to create value and meet the business and facility objectives.
Understand, communicate and support strategic category initiatives and contracts at business unit and facility levels.
Interact with the senior management team through formal and informal communications.
Advise core team on operating needs and provide needed supporting information(specifications, volumes/pricing, technical expertise, local practices, and other data as required).

Analysis of GP current and future requirements, supply markets and supplier comparative advantages allowing the advancement and management of the category.
Evaluate future applications, new technologies, and innovations, to determine company impact and developing a strategic point of view for advancing and optimizing the category.



What You Will Need:


Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering for Industrial Applications, or relevant work experience in sourcing of Automation equipment and systems
Direct supplier negotiation experience with local, regional and/or national contract agreements
Proficient with MSOffice (Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype, etc.)
Must be willing and able to travel 25-50%



What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Automation-related discipline
Experience with capital project execution, manufacturing, maintenance, or operations of Machine Controls or Process Controls Automation systems, preferably in pulp and paper
Experience with legal and commercial terms and negotiating procurement contracts
Project Manager Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE) certification, or experience managing procurement efforts on large projects
Capable of developing strategic positions for the procurement of automation systems with a platform approach
Experience interacting, influencing, and leading cross functional teams across many businesses
