TheCATERING SALES AND SERVICES MANAGERS'essential purpose isto produce all aspects of a profit and service driven Catering/Banquet department while personally up-selling, planning and servicing corporate, social and wedding business. Group Rooms Control part-time assistance. Banquet Floor assistance. The incumbent will be expected to customarily and regularly use discretion and independent judgment in performing the job duties and will direct the work of two or more employees.


  • Collaborate with Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Catering/Conference Services in menu planning, preparation, and pricing

  • Provide creative ideas in strategic promotion of hotel for Catering.

  • Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, supporting, reviewing, disciplining, and terminating employees directly accountable to his/her position, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication. These procedures include but are not limited to: Menu and Event Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders, Resumes, Daily Events Report, and Delphi/FDC Input Standards.

  • Finalize the requirements of booked banquet and catering events while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event.

  • Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with banquet manager. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events.

  • Find solutions to the inevitable challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property.

  • Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities and dimensions of meeting space and basic operational needs of all operating departments.

  • Make timely and impromptu decisions, which balance clients needs with the financial, safety and staffing goals of the hotel.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:Education: College education preferred. Experience: 3-5 Years of experience as a Catering/Conference Services Manager in a full-service luxury resort or hotel


  • Highly motivated leader and a self-starter. Innate ability to take the initiative to identify and take on projects to continuously improve the guest experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of F&B operations, guest relations and luxury level service standards
  • Sales Mindset. Results oriented and highly motivated self-starter.
  • Continually Training - listening to Industry related webinars, conferences, etc.

  • Excellent reading, writing & oral proficiency in the English language

  • Proven interpersonal skills with a track record of successful client interactions

  • Coaching and People Development Skills. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and a positive attitude toward all guests and co-workers

  • Excellent organization skills, strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Works indoors throughout shift in temperature-controlled, clean, and well lighted office. Exposed to weather conditions enroute to other areas of the Resort.
