POSITION INFORMATION: Performs chemotherapy administration in the capacity of a Registered Nurse; provides physician assistance, a variety of information gathering, sample collection, patient education, patient follow-up and consultation as well as supply maintenance.



REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
  1. Chemotherapy Administration & Consultation. Administers PO, SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by physician; consults with other medical personnel and may provide expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, etc.; provides a variety of assistance to physicians.
  2. Information Gathering & Sample Collection. Obtains patient histories; takes and records various readings such as heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, body temperature, etc; collects samples from patients including blood, urine, etc.; prepares samples for analysis or shipment and obtains laboratory results.
  3. Patient Education. Provides chemotherapy-related educational information to patients, family, etc.; answers inquiries and provides guidance as appropriate.
  4. Patient Follow Up. Schedules patient follow-up activities related to their treatment and assists with coordination of care by obtaining referrals, etc.
  5. Supply Maintenance. Orders and accounts for medical supply stock. Orders chemotherapy administering supplies.
  6. As Needed. Performs various related duties to successfully fulfill the function of the job.


Education: Bachelor'sDegree in Nursing

Experience: 6 months experience in the capacity of a Registered Nurse in a healthcare-related environment

Certifications/Licenses:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma
  • BLS certification
  • CPR certification
  • Chemotherapy Certification or the ability to obtain this certification within 90 days of employment in this job
