As one of the nations leading pediatric health care systems, Nemours is committed to providing all children with their best chance to grow up healthy. We offer integrated, family-centered care to more than 300,000 children each year in our pediatric hospitals, specialty clinics and primary care practices in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Nemours strives to ensure a healthier tomorrow for all children even those who may never enter our doors through our world-changing research, education and advocacy efforts. At Nemours, our Associates help us deliver on the promise we make to every family we have the privilege of serving: to treat their child as if they were our own.

The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children At Risk Evaluation (CARE) Program started over 25 years ago and is a hospital-based, hospital-wide program of physicians, advanced practice nurse, nurses and social work professionals evaluating suspected child victims of maltreatment across settings (inpatient, outpatient and emergency department) in the Delaware Valley. Child victims of physical and sexual abuse are provided medical services in outpatient and inpatient areas, partnering with multiple medical specialists (trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, radiology, critical care, behavioral health, and emergency medicine) required for the care of the most severely injured children.

The CARE Program additionally oversees the emergency department-based Forensic Nurse Examiner Program to provide services for pediatric victims of suspected acute sexual and physical assault, and has recently co-located with the Childrens Advocacy Center of Delaware to provide comprehensive services for children at risk and their families.

The team is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Child Abuse Pediatrician for a full-time position offering excellent opportunities for inpatient and outpatient clinical child abuse practice, teaching of medical students, residents and multidisciplinary team community partners, prevention work, research, and community involvement. Clinical service will be the primary focus of this position; however, candidates should also possess interest and experience in research and/or medical education and policy, as the position will afford opportunities for educational curriculum development, state task-force participation or research collaborations around child abuse/neglect. The successful candidate will receive an academic appointment at the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

As one of the nations premier pediatric health care systems, Nemours provides world-class clinical care in four states Delaware, Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Located in Wilmington, Delaware, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children offers intensive and acute inpatient and outpatient services covering more than 30 pediatric specialties. Ranked among the nations best in pediatric specialty care by U.S. News & World Report, this world-renowned teaching hospital has served children from 42 states and 14 nations. Extending the world-class care of the Nemours/Alfred I duPont Hospital, the Nemours Childrens Clinic provides expert care for even more children across the Delaware Valley through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.

Nemours offers a competitive salary and extensive benefits package that includes bonus incentives, relocation allowance, life insurance, comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, CME and board maintenance allowances, 403b retirement plan with employer matching and an additional 457b retirement savings plan, educational allowance, paid licensure and malpractice fees, professional membership dues allowance, and more.

Our dedication to professionals who are dedicated to children frequently earns Nemours a spot on the list of top workplaces in the communities we serve. Our Associates enjoy comprehensive benefits, including our unique Bridge to a Healthy Future pediatric health plan, an integrated wellness program, opportunities for professional growth, and much more. As an equal opportunity employer, Nemours focuses on the best-qualified applicants for our openings.
