A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

The Cloud Security Engineer will work in a cross functional team to assess and mitigate cyber security risks for applications and systems across the company. The candidate will assist in the investigation of new security solutions, determine effectiveness of existing capabilities and work with internal teams as well as 3rd party service providers to implement security solutions. Candidate will work collaboratively with internal support teams, providing technical expertise to assess risk and vet current and future security solutions; including Cloud, IoT and Mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SME expertise to consult with business units and manufacturing teams to ensure security solutions are designed and implemented to support Cloud, IoT and mobile technologies.

  • Lead collaboration with enterprise teams to create, implement and maintain cloud security best practices, policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures

  • Collaboratively support and develop cloud security metrics, dashboards and execution of audit & assurance activities as needed

  • Assist in developing and maintaining an ongoing security assurance program including development of appropriate scripts and monitoring capabilities to; verify security effectiveness, analyze data, develop trend analysis and ensure compliance to existing standards, policies, and procedures

  • Conduct technical security risk assessments with internal and external resources

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong technical acumen with AWS infrastructure security, Microsoft security & core infrastructure components (virtualization, server management, active directory and identity & access management)

  • Working knowledge of network security, firewalls and remote access technologies

  • Hands on experience in aggregating data from various sources for security analysis & reporting (scripting, SQL, PowerShell, Python)

  • Self-motivated and directed along with strong organizational and project management skills

  • Strong understanding of securing cloud environments, managing and advising customers on security techniques and vulnerabilities (ex. Security groups, IAM, RBAC and NSGs in Azure)

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Security, or equivalent industry experience

  • At least 5 years administration experience with the Microsoft Server platforms (Microsoft Server, Active Directory)

  • At least 2 years of experience administering virtual machines in AWS, VMware and/or Azure platforms

  • At least 2years using AWS automation technologies (ex. scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, infrastructure-as-code)

  • Software development knowledge with respect cloud architecture and related application security (ex. Platform-as-a-service, serverless computing, containerization)

  • Networking knowledge pertaining to cloud, systems, and services (VPCs, security groups)

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA or BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or Security

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) Certification

  • Hands on experience leveraging technologies like CloudFormation, RedShift and Terraform
