The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Community Health Research Assistant. The Community Health Research Assistant will provide assistance for a variety of community-based research projects. The Community Health Research Assistant will contribute to community-based research projects including data collection, regulatory requirements, staff supervision, and protocols. The incumbent will provide support to the Community Health Research Coordinator in managing contacts in the community to organize partnerships and ongoing communication, organizing data, preparing grants, and submitting IRB and QI protocols for the Principal Investigator.

The research interventions are community-based with significant impact on public health, particularly on the division's community health initiatives (including asthma) and other local and national community-based evaluations. This position requires extensive knowledge and expertise in evaluation related to cross sector collaboration and community health. Duties for this position include:

- providing technical assistance to community and clinical partners implementing community health programs

- contributing to locally and nationally relevant evaluations

- conducting data collection and analysis

- preparing reports and manuscripts for publication

- presenting research and evaluation findings at local, regional, state, and national levels

The position also requires experience working with community-based organizations, including the dissemination and scaling up of programs related to community health and clinical/community partnerships. Solid interpersonal communication skills, knowledge of adolescent health, and prior experience working in community-based settings are a plus. Bachelor's degree in related field with 1 year community level research experience required. Master's degree preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Bilingual Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply. Evidence of training and experience in program evaluation is required. This position requires attending community meetings and sites during the week, working off-site some evenings and weekends. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment.
