The primary responsibility of this job is to plan and manage the configuration of documentation associated with Product Development throughout the product life cycle. Configuration Admins assists in and coordinates the creation, approval, and release of engineering documents within the current Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Drives the timely release and change of product documentation according to project schedules through the interaction with documentation authors and approvers (from many levels of the organization). Communicates status of documentation and its configuration to engineers and project managers. Analyzes situations within defined, standard business procedures and practices for finding readily obtainable configuration management solutions to problems of moderate scope.

A Day in the Life

  • Support multi-site functional disciplines with the proper use of Change Control SOP's to ensure documentation compliance and to evaluate related needs.
  • Support the Change Development Project (CDP) Process throughout the business.
  • Participate in activities related to company acquisitions to determine related requirements and allocate work to responsible personnel.
  • Support the implementation of newly acquired departmental processes.
  • Assign to and monitor workload for staff members.
  • Interface with various functional groups such as (but not limited to) marketing, manufacturing engineering, research & development, manufacturing, and quality regarding Configuration Assurance issues to complete assignments.
  • Support various projects for department (i.e.: cost savings, process efficiencies / improvements).
  • Support document retrieval operations that include hard copy and electronic document file distribution and archival.
  • Consult multi-site on matters related to change orders, quality documents, learning management system, records retention/ archival, PLM and ERPL systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or warranted.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or other
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of product(s) design and assembly to make informed decisions about configuration management so that the documentation is efficient and complete.

  • Completion of an appropriate certification program for Configuration Management.

  • Experience in the Manufacture and Development of product, preferable medical devices.

  • Experience with and understanding of quality systems, FDA QSR, ISO9000.

  • Ability to read design and manufacturing drawings and documents.

  • Skilled in tasks associated with document handling, archiving and change management.

  • Project management skills needed to plan and manage implementation plan

  • Ability to file and organize records.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
