Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services is a rapidly expanding Global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. This position requires specialized knowledge of bank loan assets from an operational perspective.


Verify trade details from client trade files to dealer confirms; Review LSTA & LMA closing documents; Process trade closings in internal systems and settle trades vis Clearpar.

Create Assets in Wall Street Office and process lifecycle event activity (i.e., principal & interest payments, rollovers, paydowns, PIKs, commitment reduction, conversions, etc.) for bank loans and related TRS in WSO and internal books and records

Record and process lifecycle events for additional asset types including Trade Claims and Private Fixed Income.

Have familiarity with Bank Debt restructurings and amendments and how the impact existing positions and bookings in WSO.

Work closely with Accounting to ensure that all postings in the books and records are correctly reflected in the general ledger.

Work with NTFS clients, agents and Swap providers to resolve position and cash breaks between internal systems and external accounts; reconcile positions on internal systems to agent notice.

Interface with cash management team to ensure timely delivery and receipt of cash flows for bank loan and TRS lifecycle event activity on behalf of NTHFS clients

Build and maintain strong client and internal relationships, act as escalation point for complex bank loan and TRS related issues.

Document gaps in processes and technology necessary to meet client needs, propose process and technology solutions to close outstanding service and functional gaps

Ability to review and interpret Credit Agreements and other formation documentation.

Previous experience with TRS Facilities and reset settlements a plus.


5-7 years operations experience working with bank loan securities and related TRS

Understanding of the LSTA guidelines required, including the understanding of the loan closing process

Experience documenting requirements, writing BRDs, coordinating testing or project management skills a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg required; Proficiency with Wall Street Office preferred

Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable in a client facing role

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in an extremely time sensitive conditions

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial markets and instruments


Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
