Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Response to Privacy Inquiries :
    • Manage data subject access requests
    • Monitor Privacy inbox for inquiries
    • Facilitate responses to external privacy-related requests and inquiries
  • Project Management:
    • Field questions from internal staff concerning privacy matters
    • Prioritize inquiries from key stakeholders and assist with project-specific tasks and reporting
    • Assist with annual review of data privacy policies and procedures
    • Organize and participate in Information Security and Privacy Committee meetings
  • Vendor Management : Assist with vendor management processes and procedures, including review of vendor risk assessment and security questionnaires for accurateness and completeness
  • Contract Management :
    • Conduct reviews of Business Associate Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, and other privacy-related contracts under the direction of the Data Privacy Counsel
    • Perform validation and verification of compliance with terms of data processing agreements
    • Maintain, docket, and update contracts related to data processor obligations
  • Monitoring and Assessment :
    • Assist with privacy incident investigations and development of correction action plans
    • Assist with monitoring and assessment of effectiveness of data privacy compliance program
    • Monitor developments in privacy laws and regulations and communicate changes to Data Privacy Counsel
  • Training and Communication :
    • Interact with internal privacy and data protection program managers, product development teams, and legal compliance, as required
    • Monitor staff compliance with annual data privacy training requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience or a combination of education and experience in privacy law, corporate compliance, investigations and/or internal or external auditing
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational/time management skills
  • Team oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Privacy certification (CIPP/US, CIPP/EU, CIPT, or CIPM) or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience.

Functional Description: Professional Individual Contributor

Manages compliance business matters pertaining to the organization. Provides a variety of general compliance services to a number of in-house clients. Acts as advisor on issues involving the organization's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes of conduct, and internal policies and procedures. Reviews compliance data and advises organization on appropriate action to be taken. Demonstrates experience in general compliance matters, including but not limited to healthcare compliance, data privacy and security, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, labor and employment, advertising and marketing, and record retention. Manages internal policies, procedures, and compliance lines of communication, including the ethics hotline; the dedicated Compliance and data privacy email inboxes; and the Compliance intranet page. Requires experience in corporate compliance. law, investigations, or internal/external audit.

    • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
