CREB Associate Underwriter

Washington, DC 20044
**Job Description:**

In partnership with our clients, Community Development Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch develops high-quality, residential communities that are affordable for low-income families. We offer several affordable housing lending products, which from 2005 to 2016 financed approximately 160,000 affordable housing units, and we promote economic development through co-investments in tax-advantaged equity partnerships. We collaborate with community stakeholders nation-wide to encourage economic opportunity and environmental sustainability, which we feel ensures that our partnerships are successful over the long-term. Our relationships with our clients grow as we exchange ideas and foster novel solutions to community problems. Through our teamwork we give residents of low-income communities the support which permits them more time and energy for their families and re-investing in their communities.

As the Associate Underwriter you will join the Community Development Banking group to support the underwriting of our tax credit equity investment opportunities by performing financial analysis, and validating underlying assumptions in the analysis. You will also have the opportunity to assist in underwriting various related lending activities. As you gain experience, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with external clients, accountants, and attorneys and expand your support of equity placement activities through structuring deals, participating in client calls, drafting approval documents & letters of intent, and ensuring deals are compliant with applicable regulations. In addition to supporting internal equity and debt placement activities, you will work with the group to create solutions for our clients, train your colleagues, and represent Bank of America at our annual conferences and other networking events. Other tasks may include identifying and implementing process improvements related to evaluation of new and existing equity investments, assisting other groups within the Bank, performing occasional site visits on a voluntary basis, participating in the interview and selection processes, and coaching our new team members.
