Job Description:

Performs clinical anesthesia duties and takes appropriate responsibility for direct patient care and for on-call as assigned. Prioritizes anesthetic decisions, administers anesthetic agents following protocols and guidelines and communicates patient status to healthcare team members. This individual performs coordinating duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments and breaks in the surgical area. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. The CRNA demonstrates leadership through involvement on committees and/team projects, education, and research and actively seeks to improve the practice of nursing through performance improvement initiatives. This individual is active in professional organizations and participates in community activities. The CRNA will ensure that the patient and family are partners in the plan of anesthesia care.

West Market:
2 years of clinical experience as a CRNA is required for this position

Education Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse anesthesia.

Looking for a full-time CRNA to administer anesthesia to patients of all ages in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, offering both great variety and the support of a well-established department. This is a high-volume team involving collaborative partnerships among physicians, surgeons and supportive staff with high regard for quality and patient satisfaction. Current provider group includes 8 MDAs and 28 CRNAs. Strong communication and leadership skills are required.

  • 1.0 FTE, full-time position
  • Based at our 32nd Avenue Campus location
  • Monday-Friday with weeknight and weekend call coverage rotating among CRNA team.
  • Procedures vary from 1-12 per day
  • Must be competent in regional blocks, spinals, epidural, femoral and others; OB included in practice.
  • Will need to manage epidurals and respond to codes.
  • Knowledge of current principles and methods of general, regional and local anesthetics.
  • Ability to function in stressful and emergent situations.

This individual performs coordinating duties by facilitating staff coverage, assignments and breaks in the surgical area.     EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing plus graduate of an accredited School of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • New graduates will be considered

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in ND.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in ND.
  • Current certification in CPR, BCLS/ACLS
  • Certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists; or has graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia and is awaiting initial certification. Must pass certification exam within 12 months of graduation. Re-certified on biannual basis by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
