Customer Manager - PSP/PRB

Preferred Locations: Nashville, TN or Phoenix, AZ

The purpose of this role is to achieve all assigned scorecard targets for a desk on our PSP and PRB businesses - GSV, NSV, Share, Customer P&L, Retailer and Mars KPIs. This role manages the relationship with the customer at the buyer level as well as managing internal partnerships (finance, supply chain, marketing, etc) to deliver the business

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in direct selling and/or progressive account management experience, preferable in the Consumer Products Goods industry.
  • Successful experience working within a team environment that includes cross-functional resources/departments.
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in key sales metrics
  • Motivated, self-starter with relentless curiosity
  • Consumer packaged goods selling strategies, trade management, and success in building customer relationships.
  • Success in a team environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, visualizations, and complex custom reports
  • Ability to create collaborative relationships with business partners at all levels of the organization
  • Drive for results and strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Highly motivated with a passion for continuous improvement and bias for action
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to manage various responsibilities at one time
  • Ability to identify issues/opportunities and recommend solutions, ideas and more efficient approaches

What would be your key responsibilities?
  • Achieve all assigned scorecard targets - GSV, NSV, Share, Customer P&L, Retailer and Mars KPIs.
  • Develop account plans & tactics that include volume forecast, resource allocation and profitability objectives to ensure the realization of account strategies and objectives.
  • Focus metrics and accountabilities on supply chain effectiveness and efficiencies with the goal of relentlessly driving out waste and costs.
  • Leads all cross-functional resources to meet the objectives of both the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with development of category strategies & implementation.
  • Leads "POD" of cross functional team (category management, analyst and insights) to deliver goals through detailed analysis, customer management, and shelf leadership.
  • Optimizes budget to best deliver effective and efficient results through management of trade and shopper marketing dollars.
  • Forecasts the monthly volume for the desk, including daily tracking, updates and projections each week during the period.
  • Communicates with internal stakeholders and leadership on plans, share position, volume and expectations for the cat portfolio.
  • Provides insights and recommendations for the customer and internal team on key brands at Petco, competition and market intelligence.
