The Department of Communication Disorders (CSD) in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science (SHRS) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Data Collection Coordinator to support day-to-day data collection activities on a 3 year federally funded research project. The HearCARE project is focused on treatment approaches aimed at increasing engagement for older adults who have hearing loss.

The HearCARE team is seeking to fill this position with an experienced Data Collection Coordinator who will oversee data collection activities onsite at Long-Term Care facilities in the Metropolitan Pittsburgh area. Responsibilities will include data collection and oversight of student research assistants engaged in data collection. Activities will include scheduling of data collection and research assistant activities, and other duties as assigned, including support for other day-to-day operations of the project. The Data Collection Coordinator will be involved in hiring and training of student research assistants. Candidates should have skill and comfort interacting with older adults in a geriatric setting.

The incumbent will have ongoing communication with the Research Project Manager, PI and Co-I's, and all members of the HearCARE team. The Data Collection Coordinator will need to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with the research team, patients, their families, assisted living facility staff, and various professionals including but not limited to co-investigators, consultants, stakeholders, and fellow research and academic program staff. Confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail are expected for the position. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be flexible with work assignments and multi-tasking is essential.

The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage workflow under tight deadlines. The incumbent should be able to function independently in all of these tasks. The position requires experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel, and training on data collection software will be required. Experience with subject consenting is desirable. Strong organizational skills, strong verbal and written communications skills, and strong sense of responsibility is desirable.

Bachelor's degree in science-related discipline and/or in Business Administration. Two years of experience in a professional and/or administrative position, with work experience in the university and/or corporate setting desirable. Experience in a research environment and experience in working with older adults is preferred. Applicants must have a current PA license and vehicle available for driving to data collection sites.
