Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop, manage, and implement a formalized data management and data governance process to oversee the availability, usability, integrity, and privacy of the organizational data assets. Maintain technical metadata, taxonomies and data linkages with an established metadata tool. Implement data quality and privacy standards. Implement workflow monitoring and remediation processes. Collaborate with data domain owners, business owners and leaders on the implementation of data management initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Identify differences between logical and physical data models and between disparate physical models.
  2. Support the end-to-end metadata process for creating, enhancing, and managing metadata schemas, models and structured data within a technology repository system. Ensure metadata is complete and current by regularly monitoring the schemas.
  3. Recommend data life-cycle management approaches and strategies and implement recommendations as appropriate. Create, monitor, and manage metadata to create visibility of data origin, lineage and downstream data usage.
  4. Implement data quality and privacy standards, create and maintain data quality & privacy monitoring processes, and publish data quality and privacy metrics.
  5. Serve as a resource for data management implementations on other technology teams and collaborate with data domain owners, business owners, and leaders.
  6. Provide production support for the Data Management team services and tools.
  7. Help lead training activities such as classes and workshops on Data Management tools and processes.

Additional functions of the position may include:

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or comparable experience in a related field required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years related experience. Duties require:

  • Detailed knowledge of client-server products and related terminology, Windows and other PC software and networking products and related terminology.
  • Desired skills or experience in: Microsoft Database and Data Warehouse tools, reporting technologies, MS Windows Operating Systems, and MS Office.
  • Desired skills or experience in: Data Lake ecosystems, Metadata Management, Data Modeling, Data Cataloging, Data Quality Workflow and Remediation tools, and Master Data Management are preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, investigative, written, oral, and organizational skills.
  • Effective human relations skills and ability to develop strong relationships with leadership and others within the Associations.
  • General business and analysis experience, including experience in information and/or content management.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage projects within identified time and/or budget constraints.
  • Experience in project leadership involving cross-functional teams and outside consultants or vendors.
  • Provide sound technical advice to management and other staff in the subject field(s) related to this position.

  • Ability to lift or move equipment up to 50 pounds from one location to another.
  • Ability to answer telephone conversation and face-to-face conversation to serve customers and give and receive information form staff, vendors, outside consultants and the public.
  • Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to job.
  • Ability to travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and represent the organization to staff, officers, board members, customers, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
  • Provide sound technical advice to leaders and other staff in the subject field(s) related to this position.
  • Ability to understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
  • Ability to use computer. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
