The Director, Data Privacy will report to the Vice President, Data Privacy, andwill provide privacy support and subject matter expertise on privacy, data protection, and data governance issues as they relate to the evaluation of business initiatives, processes, and applications within Equifax. The position will help implement the data privacy and protection program, partnering with Security, Technology, Legal, Data & Analytics, and other stakeholders, and will also have further responsibility for corporate privacy projects. This position will manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables, as well as support other global Data Privacy and Protection initiatives.

The Director, Data Privacy will be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges as we continue to mature our data privacy and protection program and embed privacy-by-design principles into the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide privacy support and subject matter expertise on privacy, data protection, and data governance issues as they relate to the evaluation of business initiatives, processes, and applications within Equifax.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to implement and embed privacy-by-design principles.

  • Monitor and test privacy controls for effectiveness.

  • Research and respond to privacy-related questions and requests for onsite audits.

  • Raise privacy awareness and acumen.

  • Review and provide feedback on privacy provisions in contracts.

  • Maintain visibility into emerging privacy issues, including US and international privacy laws and regulations that may impact Equifax.

  • Manage privacy program metrics related to role and, where applicable, content for other leadership reports.

What Experience You Need:

  • 3+ years' experience in data privacy, data protection, or data governance experience, or analogous experience, preferably in the financial services industry.

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on data science, technology, computer science, business, or similar field.

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) -- a plus.

  • Experience in privacy program build or development activities, and implementing privacy controls and/or frameworks and adapting controls per region or jurisdiction.

  • In-depth understanding of privacy policies, principles, and technologies.

  • Experience interpreting privacy regulations and conducting privacy risk assessments, including privacy impact assessments, in diverse operational environments.
