Were looking for a passionate sales leader with a
distinguished track record of selling and booking state-of the-art event venues
at unique and diverse spaces. In this role, this leader will report to Charley
Delana, URW's EVP, Director of Brand Ventures U.S., and will be responsible for
creating the event business plan each year for URW's New York Properties that
will provide a new dimension to our approach and help us further our engagement
with our consumers.



The Director, Event Sales will provide strategic oversight
across the event sales portfolio and implement an expansive strategic
rental/sales program to bring experiential brand activations, corporate and
high-profile events, ticketed and non-ticketed live entertainment, charitable
events and creative product pop-up installations into our event venues, while
meeting revenue targets. Key to this role is a deep understanding of, and
comfort with negotiating sales agreements and fostering relationships and
communication with high profile clients that have a high yield and brings value
to the communities in which it operates. The position is based at URW's One
World Trade Center in New York.



Responsibilities
  • Influence and build an event sales strategy to bring value and deliver high impact event experiences.
  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, development and evaluation to regional Event Sales teams.
  • Establish and refine strategic direction for NYC venue managed by URW.
  • Develop booking strategy for large-scale bookings, including media events, film and TV shoots, installations/exhibits and live entertainment.
  • Propose and implement new methods of sales for current rental spaces in order to garner new clients and increase repeat business and generate new revenue streams.
  • Create and manage the budget for the venue sales and work with the Production & Venue teams and the Finance department on annual and quarterly planning, forecasting and strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing department, Brand Ventures group and Specialty Leasing to integrate their respective initiatives into the event programming calendar and promote URW as a destination.
  • Responsible for the management and administration of event contracts and proposals; provide input and feedback, as needed.
  • Manage the scheduling process for events taking place in venue.
  • Manage relationships between internal and external clients to ensure exceptional service relating to the rentals of the spaces.
  • Maintain client relationships after events are booked to ensure that event-related needs, including Production, Front of House, Security, and Catering, are met.
  • Sell and coordinate the use of URW's marketing resources for outside licensees, including website, calendars, flyers, posters, campus branding opportunities, use of URW's digital landscape, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in sales and venue rentals, 3+ years of management experience.
  • Experience in meeting sales goals in excess of $5M plus.
  • Sales and venue management experience required, including both the strategic oversight, as well as the day to day management, of a successful, proactive sales operations.
  • Strategic proof of leveraging creative event ideation to support and expand sales strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a sales teams in different locations.
  • Deep understanding of the venue/rental business, including key players.
  • Solution oriented, highly motivated and proactive self-starter who works well as both team member, manager and an individual contributor
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Understand local trends and entertainment venue advancements outside of URW.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration and persuasion skills
  • Dynamic, with a passion for entertainment venues.
  • At ease with complexity
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of entertainment or event experience.
