Georgia-Pacifics Building Products segment is seeking a Director of Data Governance. A key leader within the organization, the person in this role will develop data-driven strategies supporting our digital, supply chain, and customer experience transformation initiatives. Focused on process improvement he/she will also build an enterprise solution addressing Data Management opportunities (stewardship, quality, visibility, and security). Critical to success in this role is the ability to partner across multiple capabilities and develop a shared point of view. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate ideas effectively, work autonomously and affect organizational change. With direct exposure to executive and senior-level leadership, this role will shape the future landscape of our digital platform. This role is based in Atlanta, GA at our downtown Corporate HQ.

Georgia-Pacifics building productsbusiness is North America's No. 1 producer of wood panels namely plywood and oriented strand board and is a leading producer of gypsum products and lumber. Georgia-Pacific is also a major supplier to large do-it-yourself warehouse retailers. This role is a key business support function for a facility.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the Building Products businesses (Gypsum, Lumber, Plywood, OSB, Chemicals, and Plaster)

  • Building and implementing organizational roadmap to support data management/governance priorities

  • Identify resources needed to support newly established Data Governance capability (capital, talent, knowledge systems, etc.)

  • Driving organizational change by connecting businesses to the importance and value of our Data Governance Vision

  • Partnering with CX (Customer Experience), S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning), and BPDC (Building Products Digital Core) teams supporting their data requirements - (opportunities to partner also exist across Koch and other Georgia-Pacific businesses)

  • Establishing relationships with key stakeholders across businesses and capabilities - serve as liaison between business and IT ensuring data management/governance initiatives are understood and upheld

  • Defining KPIs that reinforce compliance with data related policies, processes, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements

  • Ensuring data security controls are in place both internally and externally treating data as an asset

  • Continually looking for ways to transform our businesses using data, processes, and technology as vehicles for value creation


  • Strong analytical and problemsolving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect data from a variety of sources, establish facts, draw valid/profitable conclusions, and influence others through effective communication

  • Technical knowledge of core data management and governance components such as data architecture, warehouses, analytics, security, and reporting

  • Knowledge of industry standard best practices for data management, data governance, and emerging data and reporting technologies

  • Ability to look across the business to determine data-related linkages, process improvements, and possible roadblocks

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related field

  • Minimum of 7 years management experience in a leadership role working across multiple capabilities

  • Experience leading large, enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Advanced understanding of project management methodologies and tools

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS SharePoint

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Infors MDM module or comparable

  • Change management experience

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Exposure to professional organizations such as the Data Governance Institute (DGI) or Data Governance Professionals Organization (DGPO)
