The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall direction of the entire finance program, including general accounting, assets, liabilities, income, expense, capital accounts, profit and loss and balance sheet statements, cost accounting, cash management, income tax savings, internal audit, property accounting, sales tax accounting, and profit sharing administration. Also includes other activities such as management of information technology and its operations that are an adjunct of the accounting system.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Preparation of financial reports, including monthly and ad hoc reports, including numerous ancillary related companies.

  • Maintain accounting controls on all accounts, sub accounts, and subsidiary records.

  • Oversee cash management and corporate cash investment.

  • Maintain banking relationships including bank portals.

  • Manage corporate tax filings, bank bond financing and tracking.

  • Coordinate tax planning strategies, new regulations and filings with audit firm.

  • Maintain credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of expenses, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.

  • Manage internal audit of GL accounts in preparation for fiscal year-end review.

  • Developing, adapting or revising an accounting system to meet the needs of the organization.

  • Direct contact for employees regarding profit sharing plan and its administration.

  • Computation of all commissions and bonuses; monthly and annual programs.

  • Provide special or interim reports and statements needed by the manager responsible for day-to-day operations of the organization.

  • Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for the department.

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.

  • Provide input with regard to the Oracle costing system, methods, rates, and accuracy of data.

  • Implement methods of improving operations as suggested by knowledge of accounting, e.g., proposals for improving cost control, property management, credit and collection, tax reduction, or similar programs.

  • Maintain safe working environment by complying with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the Sealing Devices Quality System.

Certifications & Licenses: CPA or CMA certification preferred.
