Your day to day



Summary -



Leadership of Commercial & Technology internal and hotel communications strategies, with a relentless focus on cut-through communications to drive awareness, understanding and engagement and enable delivery of strategic priorities.



Key Accountabilities:



  • Lead internal communications for assigned functions to drive engagement, broader change programs and function strategy

  • This includes planning and executing town hall/all-hands meetings and creating content for senior leader engagement, innovating and managing effective communications channels and engaging content

  • Accountable for designing and delivering global hotel communications plans to raise awareness and enable delivery of key projects for assigned functions. This includes providing support and guidance to teams delivering regionally.

  • Partnering with communications teams in AMER, EMEAA and GC to ensure execution against these plans through regional channels.

  • Oversee process for receiving and executing prioritized briefs from Marketing, C&T leads

  • Prioritize and approve the global internal and hotel calendars for these functions

  • Partnering with the Global Internal Communications team to drive visibility of progress C&T and their programs across IHG more widely

  • Crisis and issues management as this relates to global hotel/internal communications for C&T

  • Overheads management, planning, resource balancing and system fund budgets

  • Lead reporting, performance data and analytics to measure ROI

  • Managing agencies and other key supplier relationships

  • Subject matter expert on internal & hotel communication and the authoritative view on C&T content

  • Heads of Global PR

  • GCA SLT

  • Global and Regional Communications teams

What we need from you



Educational Attainment:



  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Critical Expertise & Experience:



  • 10+ years progressive work experience in communications with broad experience across a range of communications disciplines (in-house or agency).

  • Experience in building and leading highly-effective globally dispersed teams to achieve challenging agendas

Technical Skills & Knowledge:



  • Strong business acumen and knowledge

  • Strong networking skills including external partnering

  • Brings current knowledge, insight and innovation using external and industry best practice

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven ability to advise and influence senior leaders and decision makers.

  • Ability to think strategically and deliver initiatives successfully

  • Deep understanding of internal communications, engagement and story telling

  • Strong creative thinker who has a track record of developing innovative communications programs and campaigns

Owns:



  • Internal Communications for assigned functions.

  • Global Hotel Communications plans for assigned functions.

  • Prioritization of internal and hotel comms for C&T including the calendar

  • Internal news generations

  • Compiling and disseminating best practices

  • Budgets

  • Agency roster

Influences:



  • Regional internal and hotel communications on C&T areas of responsibility
