We are searching for a Director of Operational Excellence to drive and deliver lasting and scalable results. Projects involve measuring and analyzing current processes, improving operational efficiency, productivity, performance, and identifying and implementing new processes. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, data and numbers driven leader with both strategic and operational experience in a high-growth organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads projects and working teams to deliver expected results.
  • Applies continuous improvement tools and techniques, as well as other Lean Six Sigma principles and tools, toward a variety of projects
  • Facilitates workshops and targeted improvement events to help teams quickly achieve strategic objectives
  • Works with local team members to identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities
  • Works with functional and site leaders as a "thought leader" to create future state improvement roadmaps with clear executable plans that are in line with the business strategies improvement needs
  • Works with local team members to instill effective daily work management behaviors, such as daily metric review
  • Contributes toward building a grass-roots culture of continuous improvement
  • Coaches other employees on the use of various tools, concepts and practices foundational to Lean Six Sigma in order for employees to build self-sufficiency, sustainability and scalability
  • Participation in Communities of Practice, leading of Lean/Six Sigma training classes, documentation of business processes and completion of required continued learning.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree
  • Must be Six Sigma Certified Black Belt or Lean Practitioner Certified
  • 5 + years of demonstrated understanding and experience in continuous improvement, process management, or system thinking
  • Proficient in capacity planning, workforce planning and modeling
  • Experience with Revenue Cycle
  • Experience in data collection and analysis for Master Black Belt projects
  • Strong knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methods and proven ability to leverage them to achieve business results
  • Experience in transactional business processes or operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading change
  • Ability to influence business leaders
  • Self-starter with problem solving skills
  • Ability to make decisions and collaborate across business units and functional areas
  • Passionate, high energy and results-oriented
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple formats: formal presentations, meetings, conference calls, e-mails, and memos
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Some evening or night work hours may be required, depending on project needs.
  • Ability to travel regularly to Elmwood Park, NJ and to our remote labs as needed; approximately 35-50% travel expected (expectations shown are targeted ranges; actual travel required will vary by project and can exceed or go below targeted amounts.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large scale Lean Projects - Value Stream Mapping, Roadmap Building, Daily Management Systems, 2/3P Mock-up is highly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft project and Visio a plus
  • Six Sigma Certified Master Black Belt
  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Management in leading, training and coaching high performing Lean Six Sigma teams strongly preferred
  • Project Management skills (PMP)
  • Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination; medical or religious exemptions considered.
