The 2nd SHIFT Dispense Cell Operator is responsible for improving the safety; quality and efficiency of the Automotive Technical and Production organization by supplying assembled finished requests to the technical area and Manufacturing, using the building 3 Pilot Dispense machine. The Dispense Cell Operator will also be responsible to be proficient at raw material procurement and raw material replenishment in Bldg. 3. Incumbent will be required to interact with customers in the technical labs and production, as well as, the building manager. L.E.A.D., being a technical services function, the successful applicant will need to obtain a forklift license and also be required to remove and replace any full hazardous waste containers from the 46 dock as needed, after hours.

This position is responsible for improving the safety; quality and efficiency of the Automotive Technical organization by performing several key functions. These key functions or tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Dispense Cell Operator

  • Supplies assembled finished requests to the technical laboratories using the building 3 Pilot Dispense machine.
Raw Material Procurement
  • Locate and fill raw materials properly and safely. The ability to navigate within Oracle as trained and stabilize inventory control. Recognize issues with orders and supply constructive corrections or solutions to achieve delivery of materials.
Dock Operator
  • Responsible for managing the removal and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from the Dock Area. This includes training to understand the EPA requirements and following the proper procedures for waste disposal and transport to the facility environmental waste handling area.
Facility Services
  • Able to assist the Technical Services Team with a variety of facility tasks such as issuing work orders, assist in the observation of internal and external maintenance projects, and management of company pool cars.

SHIFT: 2nd shift, 2:00pm - 10:30p (training to occur on first shift)

Experience and Education

High school diploma or GED with some technical background and aptitude is required.

Functional and Technical Skills

  • Able to interact with internal customers in the technical labs as well as the building manager and all levels of the technical management team
  • Will need to obtain a forklift license and also be required to remove and replace any full hazardous waste containers from the 46 dock as needed
  • Successful candidate must be committed to safety and quality processes and 5S
  • Record of good attendance, on-time record and recognized excellent performance
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service with proven abilities in understanding and satisfying customer needs
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • 1-3 years' experience in production; technical knowledge of the batch building process and lab sample preparation process with coatings and raw materials is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to safely handle 5-gallon pails, 55 gallon drums, tote bins and safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be a self-starter and able to work without close supervision and willing to work Saturdays when scheduled (approximately one per month).
  • Aptitude and positive attitude to work within the Services Team. Able to perform miscellaneous functions/tasks needed to support the technical community. Helping team members when needed is encouraged and expected.
  • Reasonable computer skills for PC and computer machine interfaces including, but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, with Oracle or SAP a bonus.
