Earwolf is the leading comedy podcast network, behind hit shows like Comedy Bang! Bang!, Conan OBrien Needs a Friend, How Did This Get Made?, and Office Ladies.

Our NY office is looking for a versatile and self-reliant audio producer to lead production across a number of weekly podcasts. Youll collaborate with the funniest hosts in the business to ensure their shows match their creative vision and our networks high production standards.

Were looking for someone with a demonstrable passion for comedy and podcasts. Someone who can provide the kind of supportive and fun environment that will enable our performers to do their best work.

You should have a deep knowledge of the NY and national comedy scenes, an ear for good audio, superb comic judgement, great people skills, proficiency in audio recording and Pro Tools editing, and the plate-spinning skills to put all that into practice across multiple shows each week.

Past successful hires have included people without previous podcast production experience. Live or video production backgrounds are also valuable to us, as are different backgrounds and perspectives.

Specific duties include:

  • Producing Chris Gethards Beautiful Anonymous, The Chris Gethard Presents Podcast, Fake the Nation, and other shows as required.
  • Being Earwolfs face in the NY comedy scene, scouting the most talented new and established comedians and bringing them to our studios.
  • Developing new show formats based on talent ideas and Earwolf priorities.
  • Offering structural, technical and audio expertise to turn funny ideas into breakout hits.
  • Providing support and creative input for existing shows to ensure ongoing quality and originality.
  • Ongoing communication and advocacy on behalf of your shows across all parts of our company.
  • Coordinating studio sessions to ensure talent have a great experience recording with us.
  • Working with our talent booker to bring exciting, diverse, funny guests onto our shows.
  • Recording and editing shows in partnership with our engineering team.
  • Managing production schedules to ensure timely publishing and happy advertisers.
  • Writing and producing promotional material in ways true to the hosts voice and the shows spirit.
  • Developing audience engagement tactics to foster community and bring new listeners into the network.
  • Collaborating with the Stitcher Premium team to develop, sell and deliver original bonus content to run alongside Earwolf releases.

What youll bring:

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years experience in content development and production for: podcast, radio, TV or live events.
  • A demonstrable passion for comedy
  • Experience working collaboratively with creative and editorial talent
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Hands-on video or audio editing skills (ProTools preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to meet all deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
