We are seeking a full-time eCAD System Manager at our office in Cary, NC. In this role, you will serve as technical lead and chief architect for Garmins eCAD system, determines and organizes long range system objectives, identifies and implements system improvements and additional capability, and provides technical support to the larger Garmin PCB Design community. Other essential functions include:



Qualified candidates will posses:





  • 10+ years' product development experience

  • 10+ years' managing a team of multi-disciplined product design engineers

  • Extensive hands-on Electrical Circuit/PCB Design experience

  • Ability to stay on top of market research of what is trending in consumer products (autoOEM, aviation, wearables, etc)

  • Experience in Aviation a plus - regulated aviation preferred

  • Excellent problem solver with strong analytical skills, impeccable business judgment and decision-making abilities

  • Strong passion and proficient knowledge of Garmin, including its mission and values, product lines, customers, and product development methodology

  • Flexible and adaptable with an ability to envision strategic opportunities in a highly dynamic environment

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another equivalent technical degree

  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)



Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience AND a minimum of 5 years of service as a Garmin Technical Lead PCB Designer or a minimum of 10 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:





  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)


  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrates a successful track record in managing exceedingly complex problems and providing successful solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious

  • Must possess experience and proficient understanding in a wide range of electronics and board technologies

  • Must possess expert knowledge that is substantial and critical to Garmins PCB Design needs
