The duties of this position will primarily support the Curriculum and Knowledge Management teams for a single program, additionally providing support to internal and other external clients as needed. Much of the work will focus on training materials, operational manuals, and outreach materials.
  • Proofreads, edits, and improves existing print materials and web content both conceptual and informational, to convey concise concept, storylines, relationships, data, hierarchy, processes, etc.
  • Ensures all materials produced meet quality standards and corporate or client branding guidelines
  • Uses a high attention to detail to review work for errors and identify places for improvement/refinement; complete corrections
  • Prepares work for review in either digital or printed presentation
  • Frequently collaborate with program managers and program team members
  • Participates in meetings as requested
  • Understands program mission and needs of audience and apply that understanding to written material
  • Evaluates successes and opportunities for improvement
  • Adheres to AFSC policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Government/contractor experience is a plus; military experience a plus
  • BS degree in Journalism or in related field
  • Proven working experience as an editor
  • Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills and an excellent portfolio
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • An eye for detail along with critical thinking
  • Possess strong organizational skills regarding team resources and structure, project management, and self-management
  • Expert in Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint and Word)
  • Possess at least intermediate skills with SharePoint, Web Design
  • Ability to work on a project independently or collaborate as part of a team initiative
  • Capable of working with little direction, but also able to ask questions and reach out for guidance and mentorship
  • Assess and manage overall workload, setting deadlines and controlling expectations for individual tasks
  • Adhere to tight deadlines and time sensitive tasks
  • Honor confidentiality
