Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Planner to support our team in Cedar Springs, GA. The Cedar Springs facility is one of the largest containerboard facilities in the country with 3 paper machines that make different weights of brown paper & containerboard paper. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, policies, permits, and rules established by federal, state, local, and company authority

  • Perform detailed planning activities for daily, outage, and shutdown tasks

  • Give priority to planning safety and environmental work orders with an emphasis on Critical Hazards

  • Meet daily with area business unit to relay information, obtain feedback on critical issues, and to addressed and discuss forthcoming tasks

  • Ensure the availability of required parts, materials and services are communicated with any potential deficiencies noted

  • Encourage feedback from electrical crews to promote more accurate planning for future work

  • Improving existing asset strategies and develop new strategies that leverage the reliability mental model

  • Schedule to 100% manpower utilization every week based on available hours

  • Responsible for continuously updating the information in the CMMS such as BOMs, creating and updating Catalog IDs, updating parameters and specifications, and creating and attaching job plans

  • Work closely with other departments such as process controls, reliability, stores, purchasing, and accounting

  • Help supervise and direct mill maintenance crews and contractors as needed

What You Will Need:



Basic Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Five (5) years of E&I maintenance/reliability experience or hold an Associates degree or higher in an electrical related field with two (2) or more years of work related experience

  • Must have good technical knowledge base to build effective job plans for mill craftspeople and contractors.

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel (sorting data, creating tables & graphs), Outlook (email & scheduling), Word (document creation & editing), PowerPoint (presentation creation & editing)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Will be required to perform a rotating weekly on-call duty



What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors Degree or higher in electrical engineering or related fields

  • Experience in the pulp & paper industry

  • Passport CMMS Experience

  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), AC/DC Variable Speed Drives, Loop Controls, Analytical Instrumentation, Control Valves, Motor Circuits, AC/DC Motors, Control Networks, Machine Drives, and Power Distribution

  • Proven statistical, analytical, and financial skills with a strong attention to detail

  • Intricate knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles

  • Ability to present ideas, work with various levels of the organization, and develop key strategies

  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor others
