Join our REMARKABLE Healthcare team as an Emergency Tech. HR will finalize posting We are seeking anEmergency Technicianto: - Take vital signs, collect non-invasive specimens and record all data collected in medical records. - Assist with patient flow. - Prepare, position, and monitor stable patients during transport. - Order supplies, clean and restock the treatment areas. - Provide patients with warm blankets, pillows, etc. - Communicate directly with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and patient families and report changes on the patients condition. Education: Minimum Completion of EMT- IV or EMT-P program. Work Experience: Minimum One (1) year of relevant healthcare experience. Preferred Relevant experience in Emergency Departments, Hospitals, or other health care entities to include EMS. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum CPR/AED course work completion. National Registry or Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician-IV or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license. Preferred - Completion of UWHC Basic Arrhythmia competency. ACLS and PALS certification. NVCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention training). Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Knowledge of Standard Precaution techniques and ability to incorporate Standard Precaution techniques while providing patient care. - Knowledge of safety measures used during provision of patient care. - Knowledge and ability to practice aseptic technique. - Ability to read in order to interpret type and level of patient care ordered, to record patient vital signs, and to understand and follow instruction related to basic patient care. - Ability to learn patient care procedures and apply patient safety protocols. - Ability to understand the use of patient care equipment and supplies and the principles of infections control. - Ability to work under a fast paced and stressful environment. - Ability to observe and accurately report on the condition of the patient. - Ability to communicate directly with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and patient families to receive instructions on the treatment plan and report changes in the patients condition. Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Work Schedule:20% FTE, 8 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
