Job Description Summary

The End Point Computing Administrator is a critical role within the IT Operations team responsible for building and maintaining a secure, stable, and optimally performing endpoint environment across all domestic Sonesta locations. Key responsibilities include creation and maintenance of multiple images; creation, modification and maintenance of GPOs, and Windows Updates (WSUS).

This position plays a lead role in designing and building desktop application and OS delivery processes, policies, and standards that are secure, fully architected, thoroughly documented and uniformly enforced. The Endpoint Administrator is also responsible for desktop OS and application patching, printer and peripheral configuration, PC health monitoring, and reporting. This position will play a key role in recommending process improvements, identifying efficiency opportunities, and will drive the endpoint roadmap.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience managing desktop technologies in a multi-location environment, excellent technical troubleshooting skills, strong documentation and communication skills, and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated expertise and broad experience with the most popular software and image deployment technologies, (e.g., MDT, SCCM, PDQ Deploy, etc.) as well as with the best practices associated with change management and regulatory compliance are required. The successful candidate must possess advanced depth of knowledge in Microsoft Windows Active Directory, PowerShell and GPO management. Additionally, the candidate should have outstanding customer service, collaboration skills, an execution mindset and consistently perform at a high-level in a team oriented environment.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

  • Key Job Functions
  •  Management of:
    • Microsoft SCCCM, WSUS, MDT
    • Mobile Device Management
    • PDQ Deploy
    • End Point AV, Encryption and Advanced Threat Protection
    • AD Organizational structure
  • Creation and maintenance of stable and efficient Windows images using Microsoft Windows 7 and 10
  • Advanced AD user account configuration and computer management
  • Perform monthly desktop patching
  • Responsible for GPO Management
  • Evaluate, test and recommend new end point hardware solutions
  • Assist with technical projects including application and software upgrades and hotel acquisitions.
  • Partner with external hardware and software vendors and hold those vendors accountable to SLAs and contractual terms.
  • Identify and implement application and software life-cycle version controls
  • Work with the various business teams to create and maintain software deployment packages.
  • Create reports in order to demonstrate regulatory and security policy compliance (SCCM, etc.)
  • Regularly perform required maintenance, remediation and cleanup actions
  • Assist with the design and deployment of a test lab
  • Stay informed of current technology and trends
  • Provide technical guidance and training members of the Service Desk/Desktop team and act as an escalation point when necessary.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and assist the customers as necessary

Create and maintain thorough documentation for all endpoint solutions, configurations, and processes

Additional Job Description


  • College degree or equivalent related experience
  • 7+ years experience in managing desktop technologies
  • MCSE preferred
  • Power Shell experience required
  • Service Now experience preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC hardware (Lenovo & Dell) and software with an emphasis on Microsoft environments
  • Knowledge of MacOS additional
  • Sound troubleshooting skills with an aptitude for problem source isolation
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance while simultaneously being a forward-leaning team member
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of the organization and collaborate with others
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in ones work
  • Desire to maintain and improve technical skills
  • Participate in an on call rotation
  • Some travel necessary (<10%)
