Currently, Georgia Pacific Canada Consumer Products LP, a division of Georgia-Pacific Corporation, in Brampton ON is seeking a qualified professional to consider for the position of Engineering Manager at our Brampton Dixie Facility.



The Engineering Manager will have responsibility for developing, implementing and maintaining manufacturing and plant infrastructure improvement projects for the facility and provide expertise and leadership to drive continuous improvement of safety, compliance, quality, cost and reliability. The position will have 2 direct reports and lead employees while effectively managing outside contractors.



A Day In The Life Typically Includes:



Safety & Culture


  • Ensure all employees are working in a safe manner.

  • Develop a culture where employees address unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors and participate and make suggestions for improvement.

  • Identify safety gaps and self-initiate corrective actions.

  • Be a change agent and actively promote safety activities and participation within the organization.

  • Strictly adhere to plant safety, housekeeping, and 6S efforts.

  • Provide strategic leadership and exemplify and drive our Market Based Management (MBM) culture. Drive a culture change which empowers employees to understand and accept their accountabilities.

  • Lead the team to achieve and maintain compliance with respect to the facilitys EHS standards.

Operations Excellence & Performance Management


  • Interface with Plant Leadership Team to develop capital and expense projects to reduce cost, increase


  • capacity, improve safety, and sustain operations.


  • Lead a facilities engineering, reliability while effectively managing outside contractors.


  • Empower team members to understand and accept their accountabilities by ensuring effective


  • organizational structure and roles, responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined.


  • Proven leadership and management skills.


  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce.


  • Experience evaluating, prioritizing and implementing capital projects.


What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment.

  • 3 years of supervisory experience working within maintenance and facilities.

  • Experience with planning and leading capital projects.

  • Experience in project management and all facets of plant equipment and systems.

  • Knowledge and experience with maintenance management systems (MP2) and concepts including PM Asset Strategies

  • Software experience including Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD.

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry experience in printing and paper converting.

  • 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
