Description

Emerson Electric Co., a Fortune 200 company withover 240 manufacturing facilities worldwide, is seeking an intern for itsCorporate Environmental Affairs and Real Estate Department. The assignment islocated at our Corporate Headquarters in North St. Louis County.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor progress of environmental complianceaction plans developed following environmental compliance audits.
  • Track and maintain records on corporate greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Track and maintain records on environmentalcompliance assessments and surveys.
  • Maintain files on soil and groundwaterremediation technologies.
  • Research online databases for waste managementinformation, remedial technologies, and regulatory guidance.
  • Help maintain department share point site
  • Distribute waste minimization information toapplicable facilities.
  • Complete projects assigned by department staff.

Requirements
  • At least two years of college and enrolled full time during the 2019-2020 academic years.
  • Course work in any discipline of engineering or science with an environmental focus is preferred.
  • Exposure to environmental law and chemical usage is helpful though not necessary.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Computer spreadsheet and word processing skills are essential.
The successful candidate will work full-time during thesummer of 2019 and 10-16 hours each week during the following academic year.

No technical experience is necessary, although exposure to manufacturingprocesses is helpful.

Starting Date: November 2019

Ideal candidate wouldbe a Junior and would be available:

Part time 2019/2020school year

Full time Summer 2020

Part time 2020/2021school year
