Alnylam is seeking a strong, experienced and energetic Executive Assistant to provide high-quality general administrative support to the Senior Vice President (SVP) and Global Head of Regulatory Affairs (RA) and Vice President (VP) of RA, CMC. This individual will also be responsible for supporting the Regulatory Affairs Leadership Team and other senior leaders in RA as well as cross-functional regulatory filing teams at the direction of the SVP and Global Head of Regulatory Affairs. Key to their success will be strong collaboration with other administrative staff to ensure that all administrative needs of the of the department are met in keeping with company objectives.

The successful candidate will have strong Microsoft Office skills and will be distinguished by their ability to work independently, anticipate organizational needs, communicate effectively, help establish priorities to meet individual and team goals, and have a keen attention to detail. It is expected that the Executive Assistant will possess the ability to manage confidential information and relationships.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Manage active calendars for the SVP of Regulatory Affairs, and VP Regulatory Affairs, CMC as needed including scheduling internal and external meetings, and maintain strong collaboration with administrative peers to proactively address conflicts in scheduling.
  • Arrange domestic and international travel itineraries, including air, hotel & transportation as well as meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Schedule and manage agendas for meetings with multiple executives and department meetings, taking meeting minutes as applicable.
  • Manage and prioritize internal and external communications including emails, arrangement of conference calls and virtual meetings.
  • Plan & coordinate meetings with global regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate and provide organizational and administrative support for company-sponsored events.
  • Assist with on-boarding new hires in Regulatory Affairs.
  • Act as integral member of RA Executive Assistant team: participate in team meetings, initiatives and provide back up support to other administrative support as needed.
  • Provide additional support as needed for broader RA department including travel, calendaring, scheduling ad-hoc meetings and coordinating guests, supporting finance and purchasing.
  • Appropriately and discreetly manage information of a highly confidential and critical nature.
  • Prepare materials for meetings, seminars, presentations, and special projects.


  • College degree preferred with a minimum of 10 years related experience, including managing executives' calendars.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office applications including MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to organize work, establish priorities, set and meet individual and team goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Detail-oriented; strong organizational skills; proven team player.
  • Can exercise good judgment as executive gatekeeper/gateway and is solution-oriented across a variety of situations in a growing, fast-paced organization.
  • Prior work experience in a life sciences company is desirable.
